Trump Bashes CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell As Rumors Swirl Of Possible Return As Anchor: ‘I don’t believe it’

President Trump bashed CBS News’ former “Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell after The Post reported that the longtime correspondent is rumored to return to an anchor spot at the network.

Last week, Paramount Skydance announced its $150 million acquisition of buzzy, contrarian news site The Free Press – and its controversial decision to elevate its pro-Israel, anti-woke founder Bari Weiss to the top role as editor in chief of CBS News.

Under her lead, O’Donnell – who stepped down as host of “CBS Evening News” earlier this year – has resurfaced as a contender to land an anchor seat, The Post exclusively reported last week.

“So who’s going to be the head anchor at CBS?” Trump asked reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday.

“Not Norah O’Donnell. I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it,” he jabbed.

Does it really matter who the newsreader is? I kind of thought they were all interchangeable. Plug and play.

NBC News To Cut 150 Jobs — 7% of workforce — as staffers ‘dreading what’s to come’ at 30 Rock

NBC News is preparing for its largest round of layoffs in years, with about 150 employees expected to lose their jobs this week as the network adjusts to life without its cable siblings MSNBC and CNBC, according to a report.

The job cuts, expected to begin Wednesday and continue through Thursday, will hit roughly 7% of the 2,000-person news division, Status reported.

Staffers at NBC News headquarters are “dreading what’s to come,” a 30 Rock insider told Status.

The looming layoffs come as parent company Comcast prepares to spin off MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network and several other cable and digital properties into a new publicly traded company called Versant by the end of the year.

Netflix Is Considering Buying Warner Bros. In Power Merger That Could Spell The End For CNN

Netflix has expressed interest in purchasing Warner Bros. as the company fields offers from multiple media giants.

The parent company of CNN, HBO and Discovery announced plans earlier this year to split into two businesses: One focused on network television, and another that emphasized streaming and studios.

Ted Sarandos, co-chief executive of Netflix, said the studio's library of films and TV shows and production lots are attractive acquisitions for the streaming service.

According to Bloomberg, a split could untether suffering networks like CNN from the company's up and coming streaming and production services.

Over the past year, CNN – the company's only news network – has seen a decline in ratings.

CNN reportedly received 42 percent less viewers in the third quarter of 2025 than in the third quarter of 2024, according to Ad Week.

In January, CNN laid off 6 percent of its work force and new digital strategies, which Warner Bros. invested $70 million into.

The news network also announced plans for a streaming service, despite shutting down CNN+ just a month after it launched in 2022.

Regardless of network changes, Netflix reportedly lacks interest in CNN which could leave the network floundering.

Rather than shutting it down, I'd suggest an overhaul to make it more balanced. Forget giving airtime and credibility to admitted Communists like Van Jones

CBS News anti-woke New Boss is Eyeing Jewel In Fox News Crown To Take Over Troubled Evening News Show

The new editor-in-chief of CBS News wants Fox News anchor Bret Baier to helm the channel's flagship evening news program, network sources have revealed.

Bari Weiss floated The Special Report star's name along with several others during high-level talks meant to find a fresh face for the broadcaster after Maurice DuBois and John Dickerson stepped in for Norah O'Donnell in January, insiders told Status.

Ratings for CBS Evening News have dropped from 4.8 million to 4.1million since.

"MeidasTouch is a prolific spreader of misinformation on social media. To give just a few examples:

  • In numerous videos from 2021 and 2022 they pushed the claim that Trump ordered the National Guard to stand down on January 6 - when in fact he authorized 10,000 troops days earlier.
  • In March 2022 they made a video go viral of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene appearing to refuse to applaud Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky. The clip was deceptively edited - MTG did in fact applaud Zelensky before, during, and after the ovation.
  • In the summer of 2022 they claimed that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis banned books on the holocaust. They were not banned - the law in question restricts classroom instruction on sexual orientation/gender identity in K–3, not history. The claim was based on a single isolated removal of the book “Maus” in one county from a curriculum (which was reversed).
  • In September 2023, they claimed that Trump had suggested feeding migrant children to alligators in a Truth Social post. The Truth Social post in question doesn’t even mention children.
  • In December 2023 they ran a headline claiming that Donald Trump confessed “We’ve been waging an all out war on American democracy.” From the context, Trump clearly meant to say that the left was doing this and misspoke - it was not an admission.
  • In September 2024, they claimed that Trump said he would be a “dictator on day one” citing a heavily edited video. Trump said, in a clearly tongue-in-cheek comment, that he’d be a dictator on day one to close the border and drill for oil, but “after that, I’m not a dictator.” The ending was cut from the video.
The quality of the lies is so poor and embarrassing to other left-wing propagandists that even left-leaning outlets like CNN and Snopes routinely correct them."

Reads like a re-cap of LG threads.

Oh, Lawrence. Not a good look, but you love to see MSNBC going after CNN.

NEW YORK (AP) — MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Wednesday retracted his story about supposed Russian ties to President Donald Trump’s finances and apologized for reporting it — just as Trump’s lawyer demanded.

That means he lied.

BBC Issues Grovelling Apology To Donald Trump Over 'Misleading' Panorama Documentary after president threatens to sue for $1bn - but REFUSES to Pay Compensation

The BBC issued an apology to Donald Trump today after the US President suggested he has an 'obligation' to sue the broadcaster over the editing of his speech.

Mr Trump suggested Panorama 'defrauded the public' by doctoring footage so it looked as though he encouraged violence before the January 6 Capitol riot.

The corporation said it was an 'error of judgment' and the programme will 'not be broadcast again in this form on any BBC platforms'.

But it added that 'while the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim'.

Wallace said, “With every inch of marble and gold gilding that Donald Trump has personally instructed to be installed inside the White House, with every swanky party, even the Gatsby one, every foreign dignitary, every business tycoon, every tech mogul billionaire that’s been wined and dined very opulently by Donald Trump, comes the dawning realization among his once very loyal supporters that when Donald Trump said America first, what he actually meant was Trump and the billionaires first. The cracks in the MAGA coalition are getting bigger and bigger by the day. ”

She added, “Donald Trump’s political standing is plunging as he walks away very publicly from the campaign promises he made to the country and, importantly, for this conversation, his own supporters just 12 months ago. The New York Yimes puts it like this, ‘President Trump has been dining with Wall Street bigwigs. He’s embarked on an opulent revamp of the White House at a time when Americans are struggling to pay their bills. He has expressed support for granting visas to skilled foreigners to take jobs in the U.S. He approved a $20 billion bailout for Argentina, helping a foreign government and wealthy investors at a moment when the U.S. government was shut down for a president who returned to office promising to avoid foreign entanglements, to make life more affordable and ensure that available jobs go to American citizens, it has been a significant departure from the expectations of his loyal base, and it is starting to open a rift with his supporters, who were counting on a more aggressively populist agenda.’ Add to all of that, as reported by today’s New York Times, his very public betrayal of his campaign pledge to release the Epstein files and Republican allies of Trump, at least a few of them are finding their red lines.”

VN Saturday night talking points have been released.

Who's at the head of maga? Looks like a bunch of foreigners, kind of like fox news. Surely, there couldnt be any ulterior motive to lead the country to ruin going on. I mean all foreigners love us, right?
