McCain is a politician in the truest sense. His interests always came first over our country’s. He cheated on his first wife so he could hook up with a lady with lots of money and influence.

He is like everyone at that level of government that has been there for more than 1 term. He has had his lobotomy, he has garnered support and power and he is an egocentric slimeball bent on "serving" until he dies. Everything they do at that point is self serving. Getting re-elected is self serving. If he were truly interested in 'doing what is in the best interests of the country', why has he continued to "serve" during a catastrophic illness instead of acknowledging that he is ill and unable to give the country the full attention that it deserves, and handing the baton to someone more capable?

Define patriot. I've always thought a patriot is someone who will hang or suffer for their beliefs or actions like General Mitchell or Edward Snowden. Not some guy that has the tallest flagpole in the neighborhood and certainly not John McCain.

McCain sponsored a bill and blocked the release of classified POW/MIA docs. Why? So no one would find out the real truth? He buried info about POWs left behind in Vietnam.

So tell me, what did he do for those families that had loved ones left behind?

He has earned substantial respect and admiration for what he went thru in Vietnam. I have never said anything to the contrary about that. That alone doesn't give him a pass for being what he was in the senate.

Oh, and burning the flag doesn't hurt me one bit Clyde. Kneeling for the anthem doesn't hurt me one bit either. It hurts the sponsors though when people turn off the TV.

Meh. I have made my peace with it. I don't GAS about the NFL anymore so they can do what they want. I really don't care. Ehen enough people feel that way, the sponsors will care, and that is what gets attention.
