Matt Campbell is the floor for UT I believe. If we miss on everyone we want I think Campbell is the lowest we go. And he’s a pretty good coach so that excites me because the names above him are better coaches

The same Gruden who managed to produce a sparkling 60-57 record with Tampa Bay and managed consecutive winning seasons just once? Is that the Gruden you are referring to? The one who hasn't coached in college in decades or anywhere else in many years? Yeah he's the one UT should hire and overpay for. I realize some of you think that Gruden cured cancer, solved world hunger and walks around with a permanent halo above his head but the truth is he's a mediocre coach who simply loves the attention and adoration of whoever will give it to him. Luckily after the hire is made Gruden can go back to calling games for all the flag protesters and we'll never have to hear his name linked to anything UT again.

if we can't get some of the top ones on our list I would be on board for this... one of the few "up and comer" coaches I'd be willing to try. Very young and really done well this year again top ranked opponents (something we haven't done at UT in a LONG time)

Well we going to get as usual a B level coach. He’s first of many in the running. Eventually will get one of these guys that can do it. So far been real bad.

Look, I want Gruden/Stoops/ Patterson so don’t misunderstand my post. But if you look at Campbells coaching history and who he’s coached with, it’s damn impressive. He’s been schooled by some of the best coaching names in the game. So if we have to go to the next man after my first 3 picks then he’s looking really good. All I’m saying

I would rather have Campbell than Schiano, Norvell, Brohm, etc.

I want Gruden, if can't get him, Campbell is definitely top 3 on my list.

He's proven he can turn around multiple programs, he's proven he can beat top 5 teams at Toledo and Iowa State.

That is dang impressive.

Toledo has had MANY seasons just like Campbell got them.....before he got there.

Campbell had 1 good season at Toledo.....and at ISU he has two great wins.....that is it.

Not to mention he didn't have a great playing career nor did he learn from any great coaches.

Made bowls 4 out of 5 seasons at Toledo and has Iowa St bowl eligible this season.

Those are a couple of lousy programs historically that he has made successful.

I like Campbell but they should be aiming higher until the bigger names say no.

Campbell plays old school football. Defense DEFENCE Defense and RUN RUN RUN. He would be a good hire. The buyout would worry me. I would hope it could be lowered with UT having to pay coach Jones to 2021.

I asked Tommy Birch about what he thought about the situation with Campbell being interviewed. He works for the Des Moines newspaper is covers ISU extensively.
