Martin really isn't that bad

What's lost in all of this chatter is the fact Half Season has enough trouble trying to win with a handful of top 75 players as is (two of whom were 5 star talents). Imagine what we'll look like in the interior after Stokes and Maymon depart this year.....

Agree, we should just cancel next season right now.

as you can see there are many of us concerned about the future of our program and if CM can and will make adjustments but you are turning into the little brat in the back seat that won't stfu. Remind me not to get stuck in a dire situation with you.
no offense.

Roflmao

Buzz took a team to the NCAA tourney and won the NIT. Wade Houston won two road games in the NIT and made the finals of the SEC tourney. As of yet, Martin has not reached their highest achievement.

Let's be honest bro....the only NIT you want to win is the one they play before conference season starts. South Carolina won a couple of NITs and they still fired their sucky coach.

Not that it will matter to you but Austin is also top 100 by 247. Both are just outside 100 on rivals. And we all know how different #99 and #113 are. :/

I was hoping for that signature piece to the signing class. I really was impressed we stayed in it for the 5* guys til the end. My hope is that after this season CCM will have the ability to land more 4* top 50-75 guys.

Why wouldn't I care? They are decent players, but not as good as the ones they are replacing.

How could you possibly know that? They haven't even played a game yet.

I've seen a couple of them play. They are decent players, but none of them are on the level of McRae or a pre-injury Maymon. They need a stud player to complement them.

Sophomore hubbs and a senior Richardson could be those stud players. We don't need to sign a stud. People's games progress you know?

Sure, why not? Tennessee fans operate mostly on hoping things get better these days.

Richardson is not a primary scorer. Hubbs will be a very good player, but I'm not convinced he's as good as McRae, either. I think you need to prepare yourself for a dip in talent.

Why would Richardson be the primary scorer? We have Maymon, McRae and stokes. If Richardson progresses like he has every year he will be a heck of a player and Hubbs will have a full year underneath his belt. By the way Richardson will be our primary scorer next year and Hubbs will probably be the second option. The talent will not be the same as this year, but it won't be as bad as you think it will be.

Maymon and McRae will be gone next year and, if he gets bad advice or is hard-headed enough, Stokes may be gone as well. Richardson is a player I like, but, if he's our primary option, we are in trouble. Let's hope that Hubbs develops to his potential.

The part about this post that cracks me up is I remember the posts from the majority of posters ABOUT MCRAE 2-3 years ago. It was the same thing you're saying, McRae isn't a primary scorer, who's gonna replace Tatum.

Just because a guy isn't averaging 20ppg as a freshman doesn't mean he won't progress nicely.

Doesn't mean he will either....who in the hell was worried about replacing tatum........I always thought McRae would be a stud, just didn't know when or if he would realize it.

Plenty of people were bragging on McRae, who was killing it in practices pretty much after he stepped on campus.

I also forgot to mention, as the above guy noted, who the hell was worried about filling Tatum's shoes? He was a decent player and I liked him, but guys like him come around pretty frequently.

Yeah, it's such a strain to see some kids play ball these days. We're not recruiting from Siberia. Summer ball, winter tournaments, etc., kids play everywhere.

I find it odd that if you've seen our commits play ball you wouldn't have mentioned it in ANY of their threads.....yet now you bring it up to coincidently help support your statement that they aren't good.

Ok.

I haven't posted on this site very much the last two years, certainly not as much as I used to post. I come and go.

It was a bit of sarcasm in reference to Tatum.

As for practices....I've heard on multiple occasions that Hubbs was the best player on the court in practice. That's over McRae, Barton, Maymon and Stokes.....as a freshman.

Hubbs is the one who could be an All-SEC guy, I'll give you that. It's also why he's a top 20 player out of HS.

If you have a lottery pick on your team capable of taking over you can make the dance. I'm not saying Hubbs will be that guy, but if he becomes that next year we'll be just fine.

Also, who thought this time last year Barton would be on this years team? A graduate transfer or two could change the entire complexion of next years team.

So who and where'd you see them?

Saw Austin at a some summer tournament in Mequon, WI while visiting a friend of mine who's a DIII coach in Wisconsin and went to school at Concordia there. I saw Cofer last season when in Atlanta. I can't remember the opponent or how I ended up watching him, though.

They were both nice players, but not game changers. They need people around them.
