Finally a sensible post. All of these people talking about the #'s and using that as their basis of who is a better running back, are laughable. I guess they have pocket protectors, and live in their mother's basement and proclaim, one is better than the other becuase the #'s support it! What a joke. Watch Lane move with the ball and you can see who is the better runner. Oh, but the #'s don't support it! Because football is played on paper, right???
It appeared Bullard got the short end of the stick on quite a few plays. (not trying to bash the kid).
You guys think Jackson gets a look at guard this week in practice?
So wait, you just demoted Poole to our number 4 back cause he rushed 24 times for 98 yards.
Listen, I am critical of his performance and think at worst him and Lane should split the carries, but your overreacting a bit.
Poole was right at 100 yards and 4 yards a carry. His YPC was higher than Lane. Everyone is spouting off about how Lane is the answer and the numbers just don't show it. The OLine has some issues. Was it just me or was Bullard getting blown up all game long?
I think the issue is alot of fans always feel the "next guy" is better and will choose to look at things a certain way to support their ideas. Poole had a solid game and was right at 100 yards. Lane had 1/2 the carries and 1/2 the yards. Numbers wise, they were even or Poole was a bit better. Lane did NOTHING to show he is taking Pooles job anytime soon. Sometimes it's good to support the guy who your coach has put out there to start and not sit back trying to find a reason to drop him for the "next guy". JMO
If Poole keeps fumbling he wont have it long.I think the issue is alot of fans always feel the "next guy" is better and will choose to look at things a certain way to support their ideas. Now that's the kind of RB UT has been lacking for years.
Quick.
Fast.
Shifty.
Good Vision.
Reminds me of Alabama's Shaun Alexander.
Everyone always thinks the new guy is better. Lane may be better but Poole is a good SEC back with a 1,000 yard season under his belt. Lane is a freshman with 37 yards total for his career. Get real people.
