It looked like he gave NO effort on that safety..... He just fell when he got touched... Didnt even look like he tried to keep his legs moving.... Looked like he was laying down to take a nap.... (Tauren Poole)

I appeared we could have thrown on them all night if we wanted. CDD knew they were stacking the box but still wanted us to run against it because he thought our guys should be able to man handle them no matter what. we didnt though.

on a side note, their line averages about 318. not small.

Lane didn't get as many carries and his ypc was 4 until he had that 1 yrd rd run. Plus lane returned punts and caught a td pass. Overall rd 1 to Lane.

Poole 23 carries 98 yards.
Lane 11 carries 40 yards.

Yes, Lane returned punts...but the talk of how much better Lane looks at RB just is not supported by the numbers.

Is obviously our #1 RB with Neal and Smith sharing the 2 spot. I'm off the Poole train...for now. Tauren can be the best back this year but I didnt see a Travis Stephens like effort from him tonight.

did u even watch the game? bc he had no holes buddy. worst post all year. glad u made yourself sound like a dummy

Poole was 24 for 98..right at 4..lane was right at 4 before a 1 yrd rd run which will lower your ypc. You know that right? If lane had gotten 24 carries he would have had equal or better. Sorry Fife your wrong as always. Go back to mayberry boy.

I watched it and yes He did have some holes. Fact is Poole is soft. That safety alone shows that. Goes down way too easy for an sec starter.

It doesn't help Montana was stacking the box all game. I don't think it will be as big of a deal next week, but that might be wishful thinking.

I was totally frustated with the OL tonight. I mean there were no hole to run thru all night. Pass protection was a little better but not by that much. Bray should not have been pressured by that defense like he was tonight. We have a long way to go to compete with gator. Damn, I hate the gators......

Lane as a freshman is better than Poole as freshman. Actually Lane now is where Poole was as a Junior. But, Poole is still our starter. Lane however is a much more fluid and natural runner than Poole and a good back-up for this season as well as PR. Good thing to have two backs.

Poole did not play well, but if you've ever seen him play before you can't seriously believe he is soft. Guy plays like every down is his last.

Trust me I'm not the only one who says he's soft. If you saw it streamed 75% of the people commenting said the exact same thing. Goes down on the first hit a majority of the time. He is soft no doubt.

:eek:lol: Yeah, let's not count Marlins short runs so that it will support your claims of how much better he looked. Lane did NOT do any better than Poole did. If he had gone for 120 yards on 15 carries...you would have something to spout off about. Your reaching at best.

Lane just has more of that "it" factor. You can just see it when he runs.

Based off one game (that we were dominating) versus the entire body of work of last season? Come on man.

im worried about poole. lane looks like he could b real good. real fast and shifty, poole is neither of those. we will see how the season progresses, im on the speed bus over the big bruiser back

Well, his "IT" factor was worth less than 4 yards a carry.

Stats don't reflect second effort. Had Poole given it, it might have prevented a safety. Lane gave it, and it resulted in a touchdown.

Poole reminded me of Jamal Lewis in his final season, going down on first contact every time. Lane fought like a mad dog for every inch.

It's obvious that it didn't show in the stats, but it's there. Every time Lane got the ball, I felt like he'd get 5+ yards. I never felt that way with Poole.
