You saw 2 rb's run for a 4 yard average & wanna believe the freshman is better because you dislike the senior. you're the one hanging on everybody elses junk with your constant references to such & such said this to back up your dumb comments.

This thread is idiotic. Putting Poole as the fourth rated running back after he had the highest Yards per carry and the longest run from scrimmage.

Malin Lane looked OK, good for a freshman, but not dominate and fumbled a punt. That's hardly a Jamal Lewis-esque freshman performance.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I don't know what Lane did, but I am not sure I would want the dress down from CDD that showed up in the photo at TOS. Actually I bet it had something to do with fielding punts behind the 10 if I did have to guess.

It was after the TD where he barely punched it in and looked like has was looking for a hole rather than just cramming it across.

Either that or dropping back 60 yards to field a punt only to have to let it bounce since he was too far behind the line to be able to run up and catch it.

There is a manager that runs down the sideline to a predetermined distance from the line of scrimmage on every punt. The coaches tell him how far to go. The returner just finds him on the sideline and gets even with him.

One last thing. Before that 26 yard run he was 22 for 72.. that's about 3.3..which 3.5 is greater than 3.3..if lane could have gotten 24 carries who knows what he finishes with.

Lane got 18 of his 35 yards on one play.

I like Lane. His move to score on that swing pass was very nice. All I ask is that you give credit and criticism even handedly.

No one associated with the run game played well. Dooley mentioned the RB's last when talking about it and said UT's OL got whipped.

However, you have to protect your run game with the pass game sometimes. IMHO, DD had the game in hand and wanted to challenge the run game by running at MT even while they sold out to stop the run.

Go back and watch the replay. Watch their alignments and safeties. Watch their DL stunts and techniques. On the few occasions when they played straight up with Bray under center, Lane and Poole both went at least 5 yards.

Basically, I think DD allowed them to play UT 8 on six to challenge the Vol run game.

If Cincy tries the same thing... I believe they will unleash Bray and the passing game to the tune of about 500 yards.
