It's obvious that it didn't show in the stats, but it's there. Every time Lane got the ball, I felt like he'd get 5+ yards. I never felt that way with Poole.

Saw Lane with 2 tds..Poole didn't do that..Poole got the ball for a 28 yard carry, didn't see Lane do that. Lane has skills but they stacked the box in the first half which made it tough for both running backs. It was very hard to run on them, so we shredded them in the air. I wouldn't put much into our running game being uneffective tonight, just opened it up for the Bray-Rogers-Hunter show. Once teams realize they have to stop that then the running game will be more efffective.
Lane just has more of that "it" factor. You can just see it when he runs.

Also took Poole his 23 rd carry to get that run. Lane had 11 total carries.Poole got the ball for a 28 yard carry, didn't see Lane do that. The big problem was the O-line tonight. There was absolutely no push. That being said, I thought Poole was very tentative hitting the holes. He did a horrible job protecting the football in the first half. I expect better from a senior. He's still my starter though. Lane has a lot to learn, but I thought the young man was impressive, tonight!
