It really got loud when ND went for it on 4th and 17 at the end of the 1st half. They didn't make it and we scored right after to put the game away. Wavy Davie.Loudest I attended was 1999 against Notre Dame. Read an interview with Bob Davie years later where he said it was also the loudest game he had ever attended.
1990 Notre Dame game was up there. And we lost.
Thankfully I got to my seat early that dayā¦. But that was the ā91 game. I was watching Dale Carter heading towards the locker room as he was the first player jogging that direction⦠right as he got to the back of the end zone some Vandy a-hole stepped over and shouldered himā¦. Then all hel broke loose. I remember seeing Aaron Hayden yanking a guy around by his face mask while punching him in the stomach lol⦠looked like a kicker. I canāt recall Vandyās running back, but he was in contention to be the SECās leading rusher⦠on an early play their QB pitched it to him and he bobbled it and lost about 10 yards. It cost him the rushing title and Vandy tried to get the loss credited to the QB.
To top it offā¦. Conservative Johnny pulled a fake FG on them up 38-0⦠Shazzon Bradley got the td receptionā¦. The crowd was chanting āDee Nar Do!āā¦. What a douche he was
When we recovered that onsides kick, it was as loud as Iāve ever heard it, the stadium was literally shaking, and that was before the upper deck was added to the North end zone. Still one of the best, if not the best football games Iāve ever witnessed, the amount of talent those 2 teams put on the field that day was amazing.
Never understood the pooch kick after thatā¦itās not like UGA had Devin Hester or Brandon James returning kicks back then.
