Loudest game at Neyland you attended

Loudest I attended was 1999 against Notre Dame. Read an interview with Bob Davie years later where he said it was also the loudest game he had ever attended.
It really got loud when ND went for it on 4th and 17 at the end of the 1st half. They didn't make it and we scored right after to put the game away. Wavy Davie.

1990 Notre Dame game was up there. And we lost.

When we recovered that onsides kick, it was as loud as I’ve ever heard it, the stadium was literally shaking, and that was before the upper deck was added to the North end zone. Still one of the best, if not the best football games I’ve ever witnessed, the amount of talent those 2 teams put on the field that day was amazing.

2015 OU......had a bunch of OU fans talking smack around us, and we kept telling them they hadn't been in a place like Neyland when it was rocking and that we would compete with them. After the first quarter they got quiet and didn't even say anything on their way out....they knew they had just stolen one. Couldn't hear or speak very well for a few days afterwards and was able to show/tell my nephews that THIS is what TN football used to be, and could be again.

Also the most deflated I've ever been leaving the stadium......

2006 LSU's final drive was one of the loudest games I ever heard especially on the 4th and 8 play. All that wasted energy only for JaMarcus Russell to break our hearts.

Thankfully I got to my seat early that day…. But that was the ā€˜91 game. I was watching Dale Carter heading towards the locker room as he was the first player jogging that direction… right as he got to the back of the end zone some Vandy a-hole stepped over and shouldered him…. Then all hel broke loose. I remember seeing Aaron Hayden yanking a guy around by his face mask while punching him in the stomach lol… looked like a kicker. I can’t recall Vandy’s running back, but he was in contention to be the SEC’s leading rusher… on an early play their QB pitched it to him and he bobbled it and lost about 10 yards. It cost him the rushing title and Vandy tried to get the loss credited to the QB.
To top it off…. Conservative Johnny pulled a fake FG on them up 38-0… Shazzon Bradley got the td reception…. The crowd was chanting ā€œDee Nar Do!ā€ā€¦. What a douche he was

You are correct it was 91, thank you. I had never seen a crowd into a game like that for the entire game. Vanderbilt got their butts kicked before the game and then on the field!! I told a friend I was with that I thought Denardo put his players up to block the entrance to locker rooms before game. I know it was a big mistake because they got their butts kicked!!

I would agree. I was in some good seats right behind the Tennessee bench and the atmosphere was just electric. Throwing for the end zone on the last play of the game.

Never understood the pooch kick after that…it’s not like UGA had Devin Hester or Brandon James returning kicks back then.

Vols lined up the safeties 25 yds deep and backpedaled on the snap. UGA completed a couple of passes over the middle for 20-30 yds a piece and quickly had the ball inside the 20. Just all around poor execution in last 35 seconds.

I remember it getting really loud on this play. I was I. The student section and people were filling up their cups with water running down the bleachers and launching them at the Gator bench. It was awesome…. I think I was on the 6th row and someone behind us launched a big size 12 water logged leather shoe it barely skimmed my head but slammed the guy in front of me right in the back. He picked it up and threw it at the Gator bench too.

I was on the field for the 2016 UF game. The second half I literally could talk to whoever was beside me without leaning in their ear.
until then 06 Cal was the loudest I’d heard. When Meachem broke that long psd play I thought the whole damn place was about to come down.

I agree with the Florida games particularly the 1998 game. I arrived early, stayed late, and stood the entire game including halftime. Also, I "drank enough whiskey to float a battleship around" but couldn't catch a buzz because I was way too fired-up! When that kicker missed the field goal, it was deafening!!

With the above said, I'm going to give an honorable meantion.....October 31, 2009, Halloween Night. The battle of the Old Smart-Ass versus the Young Smart-Ass. When the players ran thru the T wearing those black jerseys.....it again was deafening! The intensity and energy immediately escalated by 10 times and remained the entire game! A cold, rainy night but a victory nevertheless! In my opinion, the best game by far in the Kiffin era.

And the cherry on top.....anytime we kicked the sh!t out of Spurrier it was a GREAT game!!!!
