Its crazy when you look at the different extremes from the FF and RF. Some of the extremists here think Butch is a fool and we will be looking for a new coach in a couple of years. In the RF there are some that would have Butch's babies if it were possible.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Mahoney will go to CMU, DeBord becomes OC and OL coach and we bring in a QB coach. We will see I guess
Ok for all the "pro" Debord people, why is it that I live in the heart of B1G country, a ten minute drive from Michigan and surrounded by tons of UM fans and I have yet to find a single one that was upset when he wasn't given the HC job when Carr left or even retained in any fashion when CRR took over. Honestly every single one of them wanted him gone before the start of his last year as OC. they all said the same thing, his playcalling was "dated", uncreative, too conservative and way to predictable.
So after the last 2 years and going into a year where we momentum and a legitimate shot to make some serious noise in the East we have a chance to go out and hire a new OC. We could either go out and fond a guy with extensive experience with the read option spread and could bring some much needed new wrinkles. OR we could go out and hire a guy the CBJ is comfortable with that has ZERO experience with a read option spread and therefor would add nothing new while trying to learn all the intricate details and in the end give us the same old, non-productive(unless facing a weak D) playcalling we've seen the last 2 years, probably even less as it will take him time to learn the plays and when to use them.

The malcontents are usually the ones who make themselves heard, whether at Michigan or wherever.I have a feeling Debord will bring some wrinkles in.
As for the rest: We really don't know how Debord will do, what he's spent the past several years educating himself on, how attuned to Butch's offensive schemes he'll be, etc...
I would think Butch would know that much better than us, and he has a lot to lose if he's wrong, so we'll see, I guess, if Debord's hired.
As to the Michigan fanbase: I don't give them credit for being any more rational than our fanbase, so I'll discount much of what they feel.
Yep, that's true in everything.
The negative minded people always look for things to be negative about and they post and shout the most in every situation.
