Looking more and more like DeBord will be the new OC

Calm down everyone. Mike DeBord has a decent history was OC for Michigan from 97-99, and in 97 they won the national championship. He left to try his hand as a head coach, but failed as a head coach. Has a proven track record as a coordinator, and in the span of 97-99 DeBord was part of a Michigan team that had a combined 32-5 record. Also won 2 conference championships during that time span. I think I would be pleased with this hire. He's as good or better than Bajakian. Last I checked Bajakian never won a national championship as an OC.

That was almost 20 years ago. I mean, right now he doesn't even have a real coaching job...

His offense also averaged right at 30 ppg, and back in the 90's this was pretty impressive. Yes that was then, and I hope now he can adapt and be successful. May or may not be our new OC however.. Just speculation from Mueller.. SMH

Debord was HC at CM and Butch was his RB coach and OC.
Butch was on staff at CM before Debord and after Debord. I am sure Debord help shape CBJ offensive philosophy. This would be a comfortable hire for CBJ. Is it the right hire? who knows

No place allows a coach to get more mileage out of a nearly 20 year old national title than Tennessee.

Well at least Debord was the offensive coordinator when Michigan beat Appalachian State. Wait what Michigan lost that game? Nevermind

Do not want!
Was successful 15 years ago otherwise nothing special thereafter.
Can he still relate to the kids?
There are FAR better names out there: cumbie, meachem, Franklin, legg
Who are making waves and successful now, with a similar offensive scheme and who are in with recruits now.
This is a very poor hire in my personal opinion!

This will be an absolute joke of a hire on the surface but could turn out okay.

Everyone thought Jancek was recycled UGA garbage when we hired him and he turned out to be solid.

So you're cool with a guy who hasn't been an OC since 2006 coming in and running the offense? We don't need former Michigan guys. He is as good or maybe better than Bajakian, and that's OK with you? You must have low expectations for our program then.

If he does he may be taking a step back. Don't like his resume. Legg or The QB coach from ND are my dream hires.

He was OC at Michigan in the late 90s. The game has changed since then.

Hey, Atari made some pretty good games back in the day. I'd invest a couple million in them based on their far forgotten accolades while ignoring the fact that they went out of business for a reason.

I'm a realist.. Realistically do I think we hire an OC better than Bajakian.. No I don't. Maybe if it was back in the good ole days, but right now we need a hire either the equivalent of Bajakian or better than Bajakian.

Bajakian is a better OC by virtue of the fact that he has been one since 2007.
