LOL Tennessee

Okay, let me try it this way, Jesus never encountered anyone without requesting that they change something in their lives.
He wasn‘t a cosmic Mister Rogers just smiling and telling everyone that they were fine just the way they were.
He said „take up your cross and follow me“. That is usually interpreted to mean, put your own plans and worldview to death and follow my path for your life.
And frankly I don’t know why you keep bringing up gay people. They are not in some special category of sin bucket. Jesus would view homosexuality just the same as he would gluttony or covetousness. We are all sinners; myself included. Injustice happen to not be tempted by the particular of homosexuality; i am drawn to plenty of things that carry the same weight with God.
And a true Christian doesn‘t „hate“ gays. They just hope for their repentance just the same as I have to repent daily of my vices.
I myself really work at trying to hate no one (I am still not quite there with Lane Kiffin; but I’m working on it 😉)
And I do not hate you despite the rude way I often speak to you; which is not right and something that I am having to repent of myself. And i apologize to you for that glaring fault in my character

That's a lot of words to try not to admit that Jesus didn't warn you about gay people ,but rather about hypocrites why make a big deal of praying in public.

Is it liberating to admit that you want to state to parent your kids for you?

Why pay attention to the books your kid checks out from the public library that their grandmother takes them to if you don't have to, right?
It’s not surprising you’re defending this. You and Nashvol should get married

Yeah, you guys leave that to your pastors.

What you're missing about this is that we don't try to pass laws to make grooming and kid fondling a misdemeanor or a light sentence. If a guy gets caught then he should get the maximum sentence. Your party, who you support, believe the sentence should be a very light smack on the wrist. That's the difference. So, making these false equivalencies is a fail

For someone who's never entered a public library with your kid, you do seem to have some irrational fears of them being turned gay because of a book.
I guess you go to reminisce the joys you had as a third grader reading about John’s big 🍆 and how he marinated meat.
That trash doesn’t belong in the children’s section of the library. If you want your child exposed to that you’re a sick ass reprobate.

So, if you sincerely believed that homosexuality was a sin; would it be hateful or compassionate to try and prevent someone from enduring an eternity in hell?
I know you don’t believe that; but some people do. And would it not be the worst form of hate (for those individuals) to NOT say something?
Full disclosure; I do not think homosexuality is some „super sin“ that is worse than anything else. We all sin in one form or another; and a single sin is enough to condemn someone to hell; hence our need for a Savior
That's a divergent take, makes it sound like a racket.

You know what else Jesus didn’t say anything against? He never said don’t beat your wife. He never said don’t do drugs. He never said that slavery was bad. He never said to not cheat on your taxes.
Jesus‘ mission wasn’t to provide a complete catalogue of sins. Just because Jesus didn’t say don’t do something doesn’t mean it is ok to do it.
Jesus never specifically said anything about homosexuality; but the apostle Paul sure did. Now you are free to believe that Paul wasn’t inspired by God (many people believe such); but no one can say that the New Testament is silent on the matter.
And Jesus didn’t need to list all sins; because that would let people think that all they had to do was obey a list. Jesus made it clear that everyone is a sinner. I didn’t need any list to convince me of that.

Yeah. A library is a place where kids should have parental escort at all times. Can't have any kind of wholesomeness in their lives.
I know the libraries I grew up going to in the 90s/early 00s had Hustler & Playboy magazines. Also had copies of the Kama Sutra and probably a whole bunch of other stuff.

pretty sure they had that naughty stuff going back before the 90s too.

your fake moral outrage is totally misplaced.

They State shouldn't be grooming kids. I know you're in favor of this but it shouldn't happen
how does a library having a book groom the kids?

willing to bet your local library growing up had plenty of stuff you wouldn't like. Nazi stuff, communist stuff, gay stuff, civil rights stuff, the Constitution. you know all that sort of rejectable propaganda stuff.

Reading is so hard for people.

They didn’t ban the books. They placed them in the appropriate section of the library.

With this reading comprehension on display maybe some of you should go visit a local library sometime.

Just because your creepy neighbor called his basement "The Library" doesn't mean it was a real library.

Seriously? Man I was going to the wrong libraries as a kid.

The debate should be do we actually need libraries anymore in their current form. Sounds like a big waste of resources.

But it would take away something to argue about….
