Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

Thanks for the photos. That wood underneath the overhang is a nice touch.

Hopefully they’re coming back, but they’ve painted over the “Tennessee“ that was above the first base dugout and the “Volunteers“ that was above the third base dugout.
Yes. Thanks, @fryeguy93. Lotta changes since you and I were eating Tony D’s 7th inning pizza on a Tuesday out there in what was “state of the art” at the time.

I really like the vibe. The wood overhangs are retro enough to give character. The seats are close enough to give passion. Only thing I don’t really like is the bunker down the RF line,(but it has been there onv enough now that I saw Derek Dooley watching games there.)

This looks like a cool place to watch a game. I am bring the younger two boys in to see Wright St v. it in March. (Older boy chose Chapel Hill, he can live wihh the that decision.)

Between LNS and the new Smokies stadium, which is fantastic, Knoxville has some really great baseball vibes right now, and the classic feel of both stadiums will keep that coming.

Now, to make 3 million over the next 15 yrs. so I can buy a condo and watch E Tn baseball the rest of my days. (Between mission trips, of course.)

GBO!

I wonder when they will announce the new name of LNS? I’m assuming it will be First Horizon Park….anyone heard anything?

I have a white hard hat for my job that I put stickers and stripes on that looks better and was far cheaper

Was just about to say the same thing.

3M makes an orange electrical tape I've used a lot over the years that makes a great stripe and you can get decals from anywhere. I've always kept mine once they expire so they've got a nice patina to them now...

Same but zero chance Danny White doesn’t sell the naming rights. $$$$
The naming rights at stadiums and arenas is getting over the top. Probably be Dollywood Field at Buc-cees Stadium and then each base, the pitchers mound, each foul territory, and right field wall, center field wall, and left field wall will each have naming rights. Oops, I forgot the press box and parking lot.

Could do something similar to what they did with Neyland; it is officially "Neyland Stadium preserved by Pilot", you could call the baseball stadium "Lindsey-Nelson Stadium presented by First Horizon Bank" or something like that

I think that was reserved solely for the hallowed and sacred grounds of Neyland Stadium. Maybe they will do a “TBA like” Horizon Bank Park at LNS and eventually LNS fades away. I hope that’s not the case but in the NIL Revenue Share era, this is unfortunately the way.

Pickoffs by Pal’s.
Doubles by Dollywood
First Base by First Horizon

There are still people out there wearing masks…religiously. Without a doubt, the personal protection dropped the infection rate, for all viruses. Flu dropped off the map…
I’m not going to advocate pro or con for masks, but any kind of mechanical barrier is going to alter infection rates. It’s purely common sense.

Sunday afternoon and lots of workers on site. Chairs going in on the upperdeck. Looks like plenty of construction will be going on during the year, but the structure is complete.

Surreal to see this materialize. I’ll never forget the first game I attended at LNS in 2008 with the literal picnic tables down the left field line. What a beautiful palace we now have!

No doubt the stadium interior will be at or near 100% by Friday.

The outside plaza and main entry will be diifferent.

It certainly doesn't help the construction at Haslam Fields for the 23rd straight years for no apparent reason other than "We're football, we can spend what we want"

Perhaps many of the new concession stands will not be ready but they'll likely not be needed for a few weeks anyway.

Ironically, the premium seating will be 100% ready and many of those people won't show up until mid-April.

Will the plaza and main entry be completed by SEC play? Also, what work still remains to be done before next season? I thought I read that the project still will not be complete until then.

The area between Haslam field and LNS will not be complete. Not sure WTH they are doing on the football side but they’ve had that tore up for a while.
The entry on the outfield side is far from complete as it’s a point of construction entry. The outfield entry down the right field side is pretty well ready to go. Player entry area looks done.

My friend did a walk through inside and there’s lot of finish work that’s going to have to be done. Hell, right now, the new bathrooms aren’t even online. The heat works though! Looks like you’ll have round the clock work this week to get everything prepped for first game.
