We have also made significant improvements in the game besides defense. We are second in special team yards thanks to CP, when on Dooley's first year we couldn't even field a punt. We are averaging somewhere between 130 and 150 yards rushing a game where as to last year we couldn't pull a hundred. I hope that with one more year we can sure up our defense and watch our alignment on D and on special teams then no matter what our squad looks like next year with who stays and who goes that Dooley can get this thing turned around lets at least give him through November then if November goes south then we can have our debate on the next headcoach. This is not that bad of a team we are close and it is easy to see that our best coaches are on offense and not on defense. Dooley is not the problem.

2011 - We should have finished 8 -5 but injuries to Bray, Hunter and Lathers added to a thin roster, caused us to lose to UGA, Ky. & USCe. An un experienced Worley was the q.b. at USCe and we had the UGA game before Bray was hurt.

2012 - We should have finished 11 - 1. We beat UNC State. We beat UGA State, We beat Akron. We will beat Troy, Missouri, Vandy & Kentucky. We should hae beaten Florida, USCe, Miss State & UGA.
The games we are supposed to win,we are winning. The games we are not favored to win, we are hanging with them and are close to pulling off the win.

I see progress! Not progess in the win/loss column, but progress on the field and on the roster.

A good coach would have beaten a team he hasn't supposed to by this point.

Dooley has not. Dooley ain't the guy.

There are a lot of could've, should've, would've in your post. Sorry, but progress in the win/loss column is all that matters. Just give it up man and accept it. When the next coach comes in you will wonder why you held on for Dooley so long.

wow if it was even better than that we could have been undefeated and won the national championship this year, if i won the lottery i would be rich, if my grandpa had tits he would be my grandma...you see where im going with this?

We had 13 or more players on the field in LSU. Dooley lost that one, not the refs.

Simms threw our only TD against UGA last year when Bray went out, we did not "have them" with him in there.

That's BS. Dooley can't make the tackles. If you want to place blame, put it on Sunseri. It sounds like Hart was the reason for him being here anyway. We shouldn't have made this radical a change on defense with the lack of depth we have......period!!!

I actually agree with the OP and I don't give a damn if I get bashed by the so-called gurus on here. If we had any kind of defense, this season would have been different so far.

This was the year we were SUPPOSED to see results. And not "we're improving" results, WINS.

What about lineman assigned to block him, what about RB who should have picked up rushing lineman, or best of all defense that gave up 38 points. I strongly disagree. Dooley has brought character and integrity back to us, and we have some good players on the field. We have Pittman and Graham. Our depth is better (we've made it to the 4th quarter this year). We need a head coach who can recruit the 5* to compete w/ all the 5* recruits going to other SEC teams.

"Could Be" Could Be Could Be????

The problem with "could be" is that is not reality. Reality is the fact that for the third straight year DOOLEY has been 0 and 5 to start the SEC schedule which is completely unacceptable. Im sure you are a "moral victory" kind of guy but a moral victory is nothing more than a loss. This team will be lucky to win their remaining games. When 7 coaches leave a team after two years it's not a sign that you have a great or even good head coach.

Dooley being a HC is what his record says he is.

We cannot afford to keep Dooley. Fan apathy has set in, which affects revenue coming into the university. Could you imagine trying to sell season tickets or advertising on The Vol Network if he were to stay? We can't afford to keep the guy.

what does a dooley hater say to giving a better game to georgia than florida did and giving a WAY better game to SC than uga. no. 2, 10, 5 teams (something like that). i know "ifs" and "shoulds" get annoying and you have to win a game but honestly he has put in a plan and we need to give him one more year, he was a possession away from beating two top 10 (probably lower now) teams.
