Lets take a deep breath before we run Dooley out of town.

I can't believe how some of you have come to accept mediocrity for our football program. I remember when getting below 10 wins was a bad season.

A well coached team wins close games, a poorly coached team loses all of them. A poorly coached team starts 0-5 in the SEC for 3 consecutive years, of which until today, Vanderbilt was the only team to accomplished that lowly task.

Good post OP. I do believe DD will be givin another year. Hope the Vol Nation doesn't riot. As big of a DD supporter as I am he must bring us a winning season in 2013. This includes the proverbial signature wins and not just one. I think any less then 10 wins is not enough. Heres to hoping we win out the season. GBO and God bless the The entire Vol Nation.

Ok guys lets settle down before we get something we might regret next year. If our defense had been any better we could very easily be 7-1 instead of 3-5 with the Alabama game being the only game we didn't even compete in. We were up on Florida then our defense gave up the big play to many times and we end up losing to a team who is number two in the BCS and who USCe and LSU couldn't move the ball against. Georgia we end up batling back from being down 28-10 to only losing by 7 I know we all want to blame Tyler for that game me included but if the defense wasn't so shakey then we could have one that game. We were in that Miss. St. game until the very end when TN gave up a garbage td late that didn't really mean anything, to me that was a three point game but again because the defense is still shakey we lose by 10. I'm not even going into the Alabama game we didn't even show up for that game. The Bama game and the Akron game early have been the two most frustrating game this year. Then today I am proud to say that we have the best offensive line in the country period who contained the best pass rusher for the entire game except for the very end and we had to battle the refs as well. We have also made significant improvements in the game besides defense. We are second in special team yards thanks to CP, when on Dooley's first year we couldn't even field a punt. We are averaging somewhere between 130 and 150 yards rushing a game where as to last year we couldn't pull a hundred. I hope that with one more year we can sure up our defense and watch our alignment on D and on special teams then no matter what our squad looks like next year with who stays and who goes that Dooley can get this thing turned around lets at least give him through November then if November goes south then we can have our debate on the next headcoach. This is not that bad of a team we are close and it is easy to see that our best coaches are on offense and not on defense. Dooley is not the problem.

What did Rich Rodriguez do today? IN HIS FIRST YEAR at AZ ...beat a top 10 team! Dooley has never beat a Top 25 team

If he's here in 2013 a bunch of donors will be out, and They are the life support for UT football. Dooley will not return for 2013 . He hasn't shown anything other than he can't win in the SEC. His recruiting will take a huge dive this year .No smart kid would even consider playing this kind of defense.

All of us are upset with the current state of the program as far as wins/losses are concerned. However, We are in the process of building back up from a much worse situation than many seem to realize. Dooley has brought some stability to the team and we are better today than we were the day he arrived. Let this season play out and then we can look at it rationally. At least those of us that have the capacity to do so. Go Big Orange !!!

Dooley has brought in some stability and the VFL program. Unfortunately, he is not equipped to be a SEC coach. I appreciate him taking care of the program after Kiffen. Now it's time for a winner to take the reins.

Yeah, but we're 3-5, not 7-1. Get real

If he wins out, Tennessee should keep him. Lose one and it is time to go. Tennessee has been in a position to win in each game lost except Bama. This is with no defense and three of these teams are top ten teams with State ranked 11. I would take a look at maybe replacing the defensive coordinator.

Dooley hired or was involved in hiring Sunseri. He has failed to manage the situation. He's the one who decided he had the personnel to switch from the 4-3 to the 3-4 even saying so publicly.

He has failed to get the head of his QB straightened out (as Kiffin did with Crompton) or replace him (as Spurrier or Saban would have done). He just now seems to have discovered that the ball needed to be spread around since his star receiver has caught the dropsies.

I like the public personna of Dooley. He's funny and seems like a good guy. After Fulmer and Kiffin, I respect the discipline and class he brings to the program.

But he had the talent to be 7-1 this year and is 3-5. The reasons really do not matter at this point. He's had 3 years to make improvement in RESULTS and has not done it.

There are STILL people supporting Dooley?? He is 100% responsible for our record. It all starts at the top. He manages the coaches on his staff. Just like any manager, if your subordinates are not performing it is your responsibility to correct the issue. When it happens once it's on the individual coach, but letting it continue to happen is on Dooley!!!
