Lets take a deep breath before we run Dooley out of town.

and next year it will be "well if Bray, Hunter, CP, Zach, Rivera, Dallas and Jawuan" were still hear we wouldn't be 1-7 in the SEC. It's not Dooleys fault

Why throw the ball at the end of the game anyway. UT was in field goal range, run the clock, kick the field goal, go to overtime, simple.

The people who want to get rid of Dooley know absolutely nothing about football. Mark May was spot on with his assessment. The current team is better in every phase of the game than what Dooley took over. The players are playing hard. We have seriously competed and been within a few plays/breaks of winning games against 4 of the 5 top 15 teams we have played. The only negative about this team is the fan base. Our 5 losses only prove one thing, we're not quite back to top-20 caliber yet...but we're very, very close. I wonder what our record would be if we played Notre Dame's schedule?

I'm proud of the Vols this year. We still have a chance to win out and go to a bowl and continue to build on the positives that Dooley has brought into the program. I will support our team no matter what. I feel sorry for our guys that continue to play their hearts out in front of a fan base that has a very vocal portion that has abandoned them.

We've shown no improvement where it matters most, the win column. Blaming this on the fans is BS.

Defense is worse than when Dooley took over. He may have the offense looking good, but he was not hired to be an OC. The head coach needs to produce an entire team on game days.

ESPN guys said it well. The defensive coaches are are new and need time to get the kids up to speed with this complex scheme. Its only fair to give the guy one more year. You cant give a guy two recruiting classes then can him. Thats BS. The juniors are not really his kids, and I dont count that class as his. The year he came was a complete cluster $%#^ so you cant really count that as his class.

Dooley's a really likeable guy that can't coach. Posters saying well another coaching change will mean 2 more years in the dumpster- not so if we make a home run hire. The right coach can take this talented bunch of kids and turn things around NEXT YEAR. Besides how much time and backsliding is it going to cost us to stay the course. MAKE THE HOME RUN HIRE!

Think about this: career TE coach, career LB/DL coach, GA, career 1-AA coach. This is our HC and defensive staff. Ansley may turn out great, but he's a year removed from being a grad assistant and his first job is at an upper-level (used lightly) SEC school? Get real. Conklin was coaching at the likes of Citadel and ND State then poof major SEC job. Dooley's first staff may not have meshed as well, but their resumes were light years better, outside of OL.

I say let's take a deep breath and run all of these "Dooley needs more time" / "we need stability" / "we are improving" posters off this message board.

Ok guys lets settle down before we get something we might regret next year. If our defense had been any better we could very easily be 7-1 instead of 3-5 with the Alabama game being the only game we didn't even compete in. We were up on Florida then our defense gave up the big play to many times and we end up losing to a team who is number two in the BCS and who USCe and LSU couldn't move the ball against. Georgia we end up batling back from being down 28-10 to only losing by 7 I know we all want to blame Tyler for that game me included but if the defense wasn't so shakey then we could have one that game. We were in that Miss. St. game until the very end when TN gave up a garbage td late that didn't really mean anything, to me that was a three point game but again because the defense is still shakey we lose by 10. I'm not even going into the Alabama game we didn't even show up for that game. The Bama game and the Akron game early have been the two most frustrating game this year. Then today I am proud to say that we have the best offensive line in the country period who contained the best pass rusher for the entire game except for the very end and we had to battle the refs as well. We have also made significant improvements in the game besides defense. We are second in special team yards thanks to CP, when on Dooley's first year we couldn't even field a punt. We are averaging somewhere between 130 and 150 yards rushing a game where as to last year we couldn't pull a hundred. I hope that with one more year we can sure up our defense and watch our alignment on D and on special teams then no matter what our squad looks like next year with who stays and who goes that Dooley can get this thing turned around lets at least give him through November then if November goes south then we can have our debate on the next headcoach. This is not that bad of a team we are close and it is easy to see that our best coaches are on offense and not on defense. Dooley is not the problem.

Words words words words...
Dooley is responsible for the state of the program. The head guy is the one to take the fall.

He needs to go.

It's been "If" this and "If" that with Dooley over 3 years and he is stil 0 - 15 versus ranked and Zero wins against our SEC East competion.

Way tired of this broken record. Hopefully he will get his walking (crutching) papers Monday.
