Les with Tee as coach in waiting = Home Run Hire

This x 100. A plan that should bring everybody on board. Stability and proven leadership now and UT ties and youth for the future. Reunite the fan base and start building. Not brick by brick, but win after win.

Sexton’s only job is to get his clients more money. If UT offers more than what he’s making at USC then Sexton will be on board.

Not when Tee has the opportunities to be a HC, although at a smaller school.

Anyone thinking that Tee will come to be the OC and HC in waiting is in for another let down. Tee's agent is Sexton...no way he comes to UT as the OC after we burned Schiano (another Sexton client).

I don't know much about being an agent, but I thought he did stuff to get money. That is what I thought. I bet he will want to help us pay somebody more that he represents.

If the general can win a national championship with an outdated offense in the 50s I'm sure Les Miles could win with outdated today

His offensive woes were due to inferior QB's, not the offensive system itself. Fournette running the ball with an elite QB throwing to the WR's they had would be near unstoppable.

Why would he come to UT to be the OC for $1M or so when he can be the HC for about the same or more? Career progression is important.

Sexton will steer Tee away from Tennessee as he has done all the best choices. Too much interference with hiring of assistant coaches, etc.

i'm not sure why we're so dead set on always have an either/or situation....

and situationally, i don't know why we wouldn't consider les miles at this point? Last week, i was a firm NO on Les Miles for many, if not all, of the reasons many of you have outlined here.

but our situation is totally different today than it was 3 days ago.

and to me, what Lane Kiffin or Les Miles does for us is they give you a face of your program and provide identity. they're both likable personalities for both media and fans, they both can recruit and both could probably salvage at least some of the immediate future of the program, while also setting it up for the future.

now, where you fall on either person lies in the differences....Miles probably has no shot at being a 10-15 year solution. but that's ok, we're in a short term mess right now, and Miles could bring immediate stability and provide a foundation for what comes next...3-5 years from now....bottom line, he buys you time, and gives you an option on the future. he's a very good man, really good personality, and checks all the boxes football wise you want.

Lane on the other hand could be closer to that 10-15 year solution, assuming he sticks around. he's not a bad guy, just kinda douchey, but he also couldn't care less what anyone thinks, and honestly, we might need that near term. he can recruit, he's a great offensive mind, and i think he could most certainly salvage the immediate future.

it doesn't matter...we're not getting either one. but as fans, i don't know why we have to pigeon hole ourselves. either one of these two could be good for us, given our current situation.

The mess we are in right now is absolutely unbelievable, we are the worst football program top to bottom in the SEC. People against Miles coming in at this point is utterly silly. The national media has made us a joke. Nobody at Miles calibur or above is going to come here now. Apparently a lot of people think we are still ok, but we are not!

Ainge and Rice were beating the drum for Les this a.m. EA said he had a ton of respect for Miles, especially how Miles stole Ainge's signals during the SECCG.

Me - I have serious 'search fatigue' and am resigned to whatever happens. Getting boat-raced by Vandy followed by the schiano dumbazzery is too much sensory overload. Now every candidate looks good. Or not. And it's a race against time. FL already got their's...etc

God I miss Andy Holt.

I would love Lesotho Miles. He would be a very "Philip Fulmeresque" hire which is what we as a program need right now.

Can we please stop with the "do not wants"? Outside of Petrino, who has way too much baggage for a school to take him with the "higher ground stand" we just took as a fan base, we have to realize we are painted into a corner, by our AD, with very little leeway on picking one warm body over the next... unless he's someone with Vol ties.

Let's be honest, we're way down our initial list and there's a very high probability we're going to be underwhelmed. Tee is about the only unifying coach I can see out there. Qualified, but if he weren't a VFL, don't know that we'd have him on our list. Here's one thing for sure, all the former legends would come out in waves to lift him up and some would probably coach... Could see Marion Hobby, Dale Jones, Al Wilson... alot of guys as potential staffers. Tee wouldn't mind the heat. He was ALWAYS cool under pressure, secure in who he is as a person, player and coach.

He's my #1 currently, but not the only one. My point is, we're not going to get the luxury the second time around of "not that guy".

Les Miles would be a great Hire. Bring in Tee as OC and lets get this over with

not sure Tee would want to leave for a lateral move, but yeah, if you could get him to come as OC, HCIW, then i think you get the best of both worlds. maybe les can get Steele back as DC....

i mean, that'd be absolute best case scenario.

I hope like "Heck" they are working with Les as I type.

I read on here that Currie was in Dallas talking with Van Gundy, imo just wasting damn time.

Come on Dummies get this done and at least we can move on from this disaster with a good coach.
