I was really hoping Fulmer was going to hire him back in 2018. Now not as much. I just thought hed recruit well. Hes run a championship program. Knew highschools in sec country won alot of ball games. I was hoping for Miles during the crazy search. He’s not the answer to any question. He’s so far gone he’s the same as Fulmer.
At the time Les i dont believe was on the market long i thought hire him he can recruit in the sec. But i knew it was to good to be true. Fulmer passed him up and took cornbread. I thought Fulmer slipped up not giving Les a call. I was hoping we'd get miles.Lol. Miles is 1000x the coach Pruitt is. If Miles were in the SEC only Saban would be the better coach.

Couldnt agree more. I wish i knew Fulmers stance on Miles in 2017 did he even entertain the idea? Ive wondered that in the past. But i believe he would of been a big hire for us. Some 10 win seasons some bigger upsets florida georgia.. By 2024 25 hire another somewhat bigger name unless he wanted an extention..I agree. Would we win a NC with Miles? No way. But I do believe he would have stabilized the program fir the next HC. Big time recruiting relationships in Louisiana as well. Miles is a proven winner that I believe would have won here.
Some say he underachievied. Maybe he did. But the only Reason for that was Saban. If Saban never came to the SEC, Mules would have dominated.
lol i know theyre good in basketball. Im sure theyre horrible but i cant help but think he would of done better than pruitt at Tennessee. We'll never know because right now all we hire is coaches that has never won at a high level. No coach in the last 3 hires comes close to miles resume. Miles has forgot more than the last 3 coaches have shown they know on gameday. How has he done at Kansas?
My opinion varies but I think Pruitt is the best recruiter and worst coach of Butch, Dooley, and himself. So it isn't a high bar for Les Miles to surpass.lol i know theyre good in basketball. I also think Les Miles would have failed here, even if it wasn't as spectacularly as Pruitt.
I think people sometimes don't understand that places with a good stretch of winning and an entrenched winning culture can run on their own momentum. Guys like Gus and Les Miles benefit greatly from coaches, administrators, bag men, etc that really have nothing to do with their ability as a coach.
Saying we have no momentum would be the understatement of the century. Bringing in those guys that have been coasting on their support staff for years and asking them to revive a dead program is just asking for disaster. It would not work.
Pruitt is a failure. Unfortunetly, hires like Pruitt are the only way out. High risk, high upside.
I’m not sure who I wanted when Pruitt was hired that was realistic. I wanted Gruden, but wasn’t realistic.I was really hoping Fulmer was going to hire him back in 2018. Now not as much.
