Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

In expected form, our Tits-on-a-Bull School Board voted 4-4 to review the mask policy today, with the tiebreaker vote surprisingly absent.

In other words, every bar and restaurant, sports stadium, and store is going to packed this weekend without masks, but the LEAST VULNERABLE, LEAST APPROPRIATELY-WEARING, and MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO HARM FROM RESTRICTIONS group of people (children) will continue to have hidden faces next week.

It absolutely pissed me off. Maybe the tiebreaker had a real reason for not being there since this was put together at the last minute. But if they don’t vote on this next week and do away with it, I’m going to be furious. Patti Bounds was correct in pointing out the masks aren’t working in schools (which is why there were huge outbreaks in many of them). Some of them didn’t even make the news and they didn’t have enough teachers to teach.

And, amazingly, the county I work in (Loudon) is not wearing masks and the schools fared much better.

My opinion. Yours is noted. Guess I was raised different than you.

I was raised to take take your hat off to eat, wearing a hat at the table was almost a capital offense, to treat women even if they don’t deserve it with respect and to judge people by their actions. Shaking hands wasn’t a sacred act.

I took my toddler down the street to the playground at the elementary school to play today where we were told to leave because my toddler will infect them all with covid I guess. And there was a music class going on outside in the parking lot. All these kids standing far apart wearing masks and the music teacher singing a muffled song in front of them strumming a guitar. I’m sure “the science says” they’re not allowed to sing indoors? Anyway there’s no doubt in my mind these kids are all going to be psychopaths when they grow up

I was raised almost the exact same way. But shaking hands is important to me.

Is it strange that with the huge number of cases in India and the possible double mutant that there is no travel ban from there to the US??

There is no double mutant strain. Like the pictures the MSM media used to show bodies in the street from COVID? That was from a gas leak. It’s just more stupid fear porn BS to keep people afraid.

As of 4/26, a few numbers from the CDC….
Over 95 million fully vaccinated
9245 documented “breakthrough” cases
2525 asymptomatic
835 hospitalized
132 deaths.

So once vaccinated…
0.01% chance of getting it.
0.002% chance of having it and not knowing it
0.0009% chance of being hospitalized
0.0001% chance of dying from it.

It would be nice if the talking head experts would actually use data (you know, #science) instead of vague targets and fear.
