How would you feel if we hired Lance Leipold?

White has made made amazing hires for the schools he has been at.

What was a great hire at Buffalo......probably wouldn’t be an awesome hire at Tennessee.

I highly doubt he even looks in that direction.

He even said “this is the first time I had an opportunity to work at a big time program.”

He’s not going to come in and do a retread of someone he hired for a “small time” program.......doesn’t even make sense.

Not saying he won’t look at smaller program coaches.....but it “seems” he views this is a much bigger job and will treat it as such.
What I’ve said all along and everybody thinks I’m delusional

I with you on this one.

The guy has made seriously amazing hires.

No way he pulls a retread......it literally makes zero sense......from what he does.

Don’t get me wrong......if one of those guys had went say 10-2 4 straight years.....it might be a no brainer. One is fairly new still, and one does good for Buffalo.....but not Tennessee, and one has not lived up at Nebraska.

He's 37-33 in the mid american conference. That should tell you all you need to know.
6 national titles, that should tell you all you need to know. As a Whitewater alum. I saw him and his style up close after taking over from a legendary coach that I knew well. Liepold is very impressive and would be more of an urban myer type at the P5 level. He commands respect and his teams run through walls for him. He won't get yhe job, but he should be in the mix.

Illinois could have hired LL but did not hire him.

Vanderbilt, USC, Auburn, etc.

I'm sure he is a good coach. However, I think that TN can do better.

I think you’re not factoring in that we potentially have over 50 violations looming over our heads. The University is going to have to get creative with their hire because NO upper echelon Coach will touch us. I will embrace whomever they can get to take the reigns...

I'll hype Jeff Fisher the same way I hyped Rick Barnes. Proven long-term successful career at a high level of competition. You can't lose with that combination, because you know exactly what you're getting: a great coach
He made the playoffs 6 times in 22 years. I guess it depends on your definition of long term success.

Thumbs down on both.
It’s this level of stupidity that makes me think we get what we deserve. Liepold would be a home run. The guy has had five undefeated seasons in division III and overall record of 109-6.
Yes, you read that right. 94.5 winning percentage. He’s done extremely well at Buffalo the last three years as well.

Opinions vary. It doesn’t mean that someone who differs from your opinion is stupid. The ideal situation for us at this time is someone who has had prior success at a larger school.

 Urban Meyer went 10-2 and then 12-0 at Utah before he went to Florida. I'm sure the whitewater coffee shop was just abuzz with Lance's command of a division III football program and I'm sure that all 7 of you that attended games that year still wear your warhawks sweatshirts with pride. I tell you what...if you can name one DIII championship winning coach that went on to have a successful career with a major BCS program..let's say 3, 10-win seasons, i'll not only retract my 37-33 statement, I'll dig to the corners of the internet until I find a Lance Liepold game at whitewater and I'll actually watch it.

You could be right. He may have no choice.

Curious, who is better that can UT get?
