Kyle Rittenhouse - The Truth in 11 Minutes

There were police there. Rittenhouse lied about being an EMT to remain on the scene. The trained professionals do not need this type of assistance, and will tell you so. Wanna help? Stay at home.

This was that night. Tell me how many police you see

In the video I seen, he never claimed to be an EMT. He showed his medi-pack and said he was there to help if anyone gets injured

I would understand the point of it wasn’t Veterans Day
I think the judge has to play it straight no matter what day it is. Criminal court is wear the rubber meets the road and people can go to jail for a long time. I'd be just as opposed to this if this was a prosecution witness. There is a lot of scrutiny on these jurors, they don't need to be given the impression that the judge, the crowd, or the public support any particular witness more than they would any other. I dont know that it matters in this particular trial, but you can't have different rules for different trials.

Kyle Rittenhouse was not a member of a well-regulated militia, such as the National Guard. Under what regulations was Kyle Rittenhouse serving that night? Rittenhouse's role was much closer to that of a vigilante, but even vigilantes can be acting in self-defense when they shoot people.

Lol. The 2nd amendment and the freedom for anyone to go wherever they want. You don't get to define or limit any of that. I guess rioters, looters, and vandals will have to think if their lives are worth showing up to do what they do from now on. I suppose moronic "protesters" who feel the need to "protest" when a criminal meets their demise should do the same.

I see the point but like I said, it was Veterans Day and I don’t see no harm in honoring a veteran no matter the setting. Any other day or any other person, I 100% agree

So interesting question - some of you (@hog88 especially) seem to think the kid acted in self defense but had no business being there armed. Now, I could be wrong on this (a wizard's prerogative from time to time) but Kyle's interest, besides being a medic, was also to protect the businesses and stores that the looters were vandalizing and burning. That would necessitate being armed.

If this is so, do you think that is a legitimate endeavor?

If not, is it ok to defend your neighbor's place or must it require an arm of the state to do so? if he were a fresh recruit in the national guard out there would your opinion be different? If he were a paid guard hired to protect the gas station?

I suspect the owners of those stores and businesses and sometimes homes may have been grateful for kids like Kyle with the mindset of protecting others. I just wonder since I remember being in the LA riots in 1992. When the mob is coming for you and yours but nobody is left who wants to help anyone else, where will you go? When strangers see people beaten and raped on subways and the street right in front of them but no one wants to get involved, there is no upside.

Where do we go when that is our society? Its ok for the strong (I consider myself so) but what of the weak (my wife, my family, the old)? Who defends them? is it only the state - have we so given up our own souls?

But the witness was a Veteran so it's all they have to grasp. Pitiful. You have to feel sorry for extremely mentally weak people.

Like I said earlier, some of you people will argue anything. Kyle Rittenhouse has admitted that he lied about being an EMT.

A well regulated militia doesn’t mean it has to be recognized. So “such as the national guard” holds no weight. A well regulated militia is basically any group of likeminded people.

Well to get technical about it...

10 U.S. Code § 246

(a)
The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b)The classes of the militia are—
(1)
the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2)
the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

I do see his point if it were any other day and any other person. He’s not calling for a mistrial that I know of, so I’m open minded enough to understand where he’s coming from.

Like I said earlier, I’ve been on the road so I haven’t been able to follow it as closely as most of you. I’m admittedly missing details as I only keep up from what’s posted on YouTube.

He ask for an applause for veterans because it was veterans day. A defense witness just happened to be a veteran.
It is my understanding the defense witness was specifically identified as a vet because the judge asked vets to identify themselves, was the only one in the room, and was about to testify. If I'm wrong about that, please let me know. It may not have been intentional on the judge's part, but I believe it was inappropriate for reasons I've already stated, and its why a judge needs to stick running a trial. If he'd have been presiding over a county commission meeting, entirely different story.

It's an archaic term... which can apply wherever you want it to, based on perspective. A group of armed, like-minded, private citizens can also be called vigilantes.

I'm not concerned about why judge asked the crowd to applaud the witness. I'm concerned that the judge asked the crowd to applaud a witness. I dont care if the judge said, "this guy makes donuts and everybody loves donuts, let's all give him three cheers."

Well..... whatever you call it, we need A LOT more of it. The left have had enough time to express their “feelings”. It’s time to say STFU

I'd say the only one that knows their intention was the judge. Just looking at it unbiased, one would have to say it was to honor a veteran on veterans day. God forbid that kind of thing goes on

Of course but that's grasping a very thin, hypothetical straw. Typical fake news from a lefty saying the judge made everyone applaud a defense witness.

He asked that they applaud Veterans on Veterans Day.
