One concern i've heard is that his defense is complicated and requires a learning curve. Some concerns about how well the players can perform in 1 year.

Maybe the thought is a "push" for next year and set up 27-30 for a run with Faze as QB?

osu actually got better on defense without him. I think the guy is a darn good DC, but if the players don't jump on board and learn the scheme quickly, it will be another bad year defensively. If they hire him, he needs to be on campus immediately and start working with the players. He can't wait until January.

His system may take some time but I doubt it’s as bad as Banks system regardless.

Single down year for Banks? Or single good year from Banks? I need clarification if you think this year was the only bad defensive year we had under Banks?

When Heupel and co got here, the roster was a disaster. Despite that, the defense improved each of Banks' first 4 years. Calling the first 3 years bad is just entirely ignoring the context of the situation.

This season has little excuse to be as bad as it was defensively and I don't blame Heupel for trying to upgrade at DC, because while I think Banks is decent, you can do better, and Knowles is certainly better. But that's no reason to **** on what Banks managed to accomplish in his first 4 years.

21 gets a pass. 22-24 each year they improved. He was doing a pretty good job up until last season. Most expected to take a step back, but to be dead last in the SEC shows a lack of recruiting/development that’s too serious to ignore. I agree with the firing but I’m not gonna pretend he was horrible the whole time.
