Kiffin has interest. Just said Currie hasn't asked......

Just got done listening to one of the best interviews I've heard in a very long time. Clay Travis had Lane Kiffin on this morning and the interview was stellar. Clay Travis straight up asked him at the end of the interview if he would come back and save Tennessee football. Lane Kiffin said that John Currie has not reached out to him. He even got more specific by saying that Currie contacted Sexton and said here is the list of people I want to talk to and that John Currie was not interested in speaking to Kiffin. With the level of coach that Lane Kiffin is and his brilliance as a coach, how could you not even ask to interview him? How could you not even interview him?

More or less I'm sure they are thinking, let bygones be bygones. And he would be on the hook again if ole Knox decided to leave us at the alter or worse use us as a stepping stone once again.

I know he is a good coach and I completely agree with the circumstances why not at a minimum check the temp and gauge his response.

However, I would be really skeptical.

its time to hollar scream it everyone let your voices be heard today spread it out there . HIRE LANE KIFFIN TODAY
Well! Let’s get someone in here from the ones that has been listed here. Kiffin, Miles, Steele. If Kiffin is willing to sit down and listen to our AD, then offer him a contract to sign. I believe he’ll do it. I also don’t want to screw it up either. I want Currie to get this right.

Maybe, just maybe, Currie actually looked at Kiffin’s average of less than 8 wins a season as HC, being left on the tarmac by his boss at USC after 5 games in season five, and that after 2 years the best coach in probably the history of college football couldn’t stand him as reason not to call him.

If that is true explain his hard on for Schiano

I understand not being on the original list, but at this point that list needs to be revised and he should be at the top.

Hire Kiffin

He is built for this fire storm, he would love to jump right in the middle of this Currie mess and he would win big time. He has a brilliant offensive mind and he knows the SEC as well as anyone out there and better than someone from Oklahoma good grief.

Kids love him and he is one of the best recruiters. We need to get over the breakup, it was his dream job, and as they say, "It was just business, nothing personal".

Hire Coach Lane Kiffin and end this madness.

It seems the only way to get UT's attention is to raise hell. Let's Picket, Protest, Tweet, MARCH on UT and Demand they Hire Lane Kiffin. I believe He is the Only Guy that can fix this helluva mess. It's gonna take Bravado! He got it in spades. SEC Title in Five Years? I say Yes he can. Otherwise ANOTHER 10 years of Nothing!

The extreme risks do not match the rewards.

When you have fallen as far as we have and have very little to lose, then those "extreme risks" aren't really all that extreme.

We lost every single SEC game this year on the back of a decade of sub-par performance, and we have totally botched a head coaching hire to the point where our ability to even get a proven coach is now in question.

I'd say I'm willing to take a little risk.

We have all made mistakes, I know that I have, in life. Said and done crazy and even stupid things.
It is how we learn. We are at the bottom of the barrel.

I never thought I would see our VOLS in this kind of position. It is heart breaking.

Call Kiffin Currie and sit down with him. Talk and listen to see if the guy has matured. There is nothing to lose other than 1 hour of time.

This x 1000!!!

Short memories? Memories of a flea. Vols were fortunate Lane snuck out of town before major NCAA compliance issues arose. Dooley and Butch had to dig out of the personnel hole created by Lane - running off squad members - ditching Tajh Boyd and other Fulmer recruits out of arrogance - signing a thug class that ended up in jail. You might say it was like a 2 year probation due to an incompetent immature coach. Look Lane is a decent offensive coach no doubt. Should he be hired to head up a p5 football team? He needs to show his ability at FAU to do this over a 4 year period. Then adult leaders of a major university might then feel comfortable considering him. His track records at both USC and UT were poor. Relations with superiors was terrible. Maybe boot camp under Saban improved him - no doubt he is a humbler man. I think many fans crave drama and want to be bad boys of the sec. However, no serious AD will hire Kiffin. The extreme risks do not match the rewards.

Are you attempting to imply we have a "serious AD " ??? or a puppet who is controlled by big donors.

Did we ever get in trouble with sanctions? No. Can’t retry us for past grievances from 8 years ago.

Right now, Currie is wondering why he is standing on plastic. but the guys painting the office aren't there.

What do you think happens if he says, "Well, we COULD get Kiffin...."?

We would win, We would not be 4-8,We would not be winless in the SEC , Vandy would Not run us out of our stadium, Teams we played would know they played a tough knock you in the mouth Tennessee vols team after the game... We would recruit, we would compete on a high level.....But yeah none of that sounds good to me either.

The Kiffin love on here is pathetic. He is a good coord and very average as a HC and disliked by just about everyone except jack wagons that are just like him.

Just curious, at this point, who do you think should be contacted?

Like I said before, Kiffin is mediocre at best as a HC. All his tweets are rather pathetic imho because he wants to come back as the knight in shining armor.
