Kiffin >>>>>>>>>>>>> Dooley

there is no proof in that.he didnt win at Oakland and he has talent everywhere at USC and he is struggling to win with them.He was 7-6 here DD was 6-7 or 8-4.But to say he would of won here is just guessing.
Dont get me wrong in not defending DD,he needs to be gone

Oh really?

Interesting discussion on QBs. Not everyone is cut out for the NFL. As a matter of fact, there really isn't a strong set of franchise QBs in NFL now. Maybe one guy per draft might fit the description of a franchise QB. For every 2004 draft with 3 top guys there's a 2007 draft where no one is. Try to consider how someone does at the college level alone.

Yes Kiffin did well to get Crompton up to par. But that doesn't mean he was a great hire. He was expected to stay and rebuild the program not bolt early.

He beat Oregon on the road and they have competed every game.. I think USC has made alot of progress this year. The dudes a douche but he knows how to coach

As a coach...not gonna discuss the merits of their character.

If Kiffin was here, yeah we would be on probation...booohooo...USC and Ohio St seem to be doing just fine with that.

If Kiffin is here we would have had 8-10 wins and would have competed hard for the SEC East.

Like it or not it's true.

I disagree. Kiffin went 7-6 against the easiest schedule we've had in over a decade. He also did very poorly last year at USC considering the talent he had vs the talent of the opponents.

Kiffin is doing very well this year, but let's face it Barkley and company are stars no matter who the coach is.

We probably do better this year if Kiffin had stayed, but I say that simply due to the attrition his departure brought about. It set us back another year.

Houston, we might have a slight issue with Kevin & Charlene Sirois Sumlin. Kevin is sexy.

Someone else want to post that photo?

He was 7-6

A world better
I can't believe I'm going to defend Kiffin but Dooley has much better talent and can't get it done. Kiffin would have fixed the Oline problem. Kiffin had this team play above their talent level on several occasions, Dooley has them playing well below their talent level.

All of that said, Kiffin was going to be gone no matter what when the NCAA finished investigating. If he hadn't left the program would be on sanctions and the AD would have fired him.

Oh, I'm not a Kiffin fan. And you're right that there's no proof and I'm merely speculating, but Kiffin did bring an energy to the program here, and he can attract top recruits and staff. He's actually doing a good job of motivating the Trojans, who have little to play for, and he's won over the local media and fans. He just needs handling, and we let him run wild. I don't believe Kiffin would have ever let his team sink as low as ours did last week. He and his staff have some skills that we could use, that's all I'm saying.

Even this year. USC barely beat Minnesota and Utah at home. They got smoked by a bad ASU team. They looked great against both Oregon, and Stanford, but you expect that from USC. It's not really an accomplishment.

He went 8-5 last year. With that roster, that's pathetic without even considering they squeaked by bad opponents like @ Arizona, ASU, and Virginia by a total of 7 points. They were 7 points away from a 5-8 record with a very talented roster.

Pretty stupid and un reasonable thread kiffin trained players to be reckless and provoke the law... dooley is training them to be stable and acknowledging of the laws....

hes training for smarter athletes not good ones...

I'm glad Kiffin is gone. He seems to be a better in game coach. He calls plays well and seems to motivate players well. His character is questionable at best. His trash talking and off the field antics are not what I think should be representing UT. Dooley is classy and represents UT in a positive light despite not winning much. Win or lose Dooley is building a good foundation of players to lead us to greatness again. Greatness may come under someone else, but it will be on the foundation Dooley built. Dooley may get us there too. You never know. Next year will really tell us.

KIFFY BOY never had to coach a team with this lack of talent, except maybe Oakland and that didnt go to well. So not sure you could say for sure he would of done better except he would of still had a few of his playas here

You might want to look at that roster again. The '09 team was severely undermanned in terms of talent compared to several teams on the schedule that year and Kiffin still had Tennessee competing in games right down to the wire. The matchup against Alabama that year being a prime example.

You got that right. Undersize twins on the O line, turned Dan Williams from three years of jello into a first round draft pick, make the basket case known as Compton into something semi-respectable.

How about the third Stoops brother....Mark?

It is my honor to present...Mark & Chantelle Stoops...

Getting beat by UCLA at home was as bad, if not worse than getting beat by Kentucky on the road. UCLA was not a bowl team if they played an SEC schedule.

Kiffin will win a conference championship before UT does.

Since Lane coaches in the Pac-12 I would have to agree... Much easier road to hoe. California is a much better area for D-1 recruits as well. Coaching and winning at UT is much harder, anyone with a partially functional brain can see that.... Fact is the common B**T**D left us hanging... Even if Dooley isn't the coach in a year or two the recruiting has been Solid... And he will actually leave the next guy something to work with. Its wait and see for me, 8-9 wins will keep him here next season whether people like it or not... JMO .. Go Vols.. Get your stuff together Dooley.

I don't know...can't quite put a finger on it buuuut.....just didn't quite feel as bad...

As bad as I despise Kiffin. I do think he was a better in game coach. I think that Dooley is better morally and we seem to have less off field issues. I dont know that Kiffin was gonna win us a NC anytime soon. I think we had the possibilities of being on probation much faster. Although I dont see that Dooley can manage the game to win a NC either.

You have got to be kidding me. If UCLA was using a WR at QB. Or maybe if we had made it a yearly tradition for 26 previous years on beating them. That loss was no where near as bad as this.

Actually we can blame it all on Jeff Fisher. The Titans played a meaningless last game of the season at Seattle. That was the game where Chris Johnson was trying to break the NFL single season rushing record...he ended up over 2000 yards but short of record. It was a close game. Neither had a reason to win. However, if Seattle had won, Jim Mora Jr would have got one more year as their head coach. Then Pete Carroll would not have left USC. Then Kiffin would not have left the Vols. It is all Jeff Fisher fault and I tell them that everytime I see him. He is willing to come to Knoxville to make it right. No wife..he is divorced...and a horn dawg...might be a bad mix......?
