Kavanaugh Confirmation

I am not arguing partisanship. I'm pointing out BS when I see it. If that was D's concern, they would have had it investigated.

And I'm arguing faith in our system, that allows a president to make his appointments while providing for ways to remove justices if the situation calls for it.

His power to appoint isn't unfettered. The senate has a duty to vet the nominees. Removing someone from office is much more difficult than vetting them to begin with.

Not if he nominated Merrick Garland. I really don't want to comment on whether or not this woman is telling the truth, I have seen women lie about such matters as I previously said. It is sad that we are talking about this situation strictly in political terms.
Trump is President not Obama so he would never nominate Garland, come on man!

But it aint going anywhere else. The rino chicks are in control now.

Just schedule for Friday, there that's a week. But the FBI really isn't going to do anything anyway, and its out of the committee. I'm not saying he gets all the votes to be seated.

If you don't have the votes now, a delay isn't going to give them to you.

Trump should make the offer. Very simple... the FBI gets access to everything accumulated by the committee thus far and they have 5 days to give the results of the investigation. Vote 48 hours later. No negotiation on the investigation. Follow it where it needs to go and move on.
How much do you think Trump trusts the FBI? Why, or why not?

I think you're missing the most obvious point here...

7 days, 7 months or 7 years, they WILL NOT accept anyone Trump or any other GOP President puts up.

Not a problem when you have the votes. Remember, losing elections has consequences. All the Rs have to do is convince their own that he is clean.

virtually all of how this has been handled has been political - it's impossible to avoid.

personally, I've seen enough in the evidence and the statements to reach a point where I think it's more likely than not he did something. in fact based on what's been presented I consider it highly unlikely he did.

There are honest reasons to support a short FBI inquiry. I simply do not think those apply to most of the calls for it.

They can vote on it in a timely way so that he gets to nominate another. The Ds have shown no good faith. Why should the Rs cow tow to their own expense?

Your faith in the New Facist Party is disturbing.

Because they don't currently have the votes.

I almost said because it is the right thing to do. I couldn't finish typing the sentence without laughing hysterically.

I'd be fine with this (given where we are).

I certainly think an investigation of the leak should be part of this.

This is nothing more than a delay tactic so that more allegations can come out.

As soon as the week of investigation is over, you're going to have Democrats saying that more time is needed.

R: Why do you need a delay?
D: Because we need to investigate.
R: What have you been doing the last few months?
D: Coming up with a plan so we can ask for a delay.

LMAO
