I'm sure most probably did. However, I do believe that had she been horrible and unbelievable during her testimony, most would have reconsidered. A few of the republicans were moved to reconsider because she was believable and credible, but it appears they will ultimately fall in line with their party's demands.

Well, the committee members could have done that, not that I think any sane person would, but they were free to subpoena and have people take testimony on farting or 3-ways or to see if you screw your one-eye goats ass.

reconsider what? They were all "no's" before these allegations surfaced - they're just shuffling the reason to what they think is most publicly palatable.

The Constitutional terms "convicted" and "conviction" would suggest that an impeachment is more likened to a criminal proceeding, but you are correct that there is no defined standard of proof. But, in the alternative, how would one set about proving, by a preponderance of the evidence, what he meant by slang terminology in his yearbook?
