Kavanaugh Confirmation

Out of curiosity, how do you propose that anyone set about finding out, beyond a reasonable doubt, what he meant by slang terminology in his high school year book?
I suspect, to fit the criteria for perjury charges, a hand written dictionary of terms and definitions, in his handwriting, signed, with his bloody thumbprint in the corner of each page?

Actually, all the Supreme Court appointments made by Ds could in theory be impeached for eating cheerios, but that is the stupid silly slope only lonnies like yourself would consider for spite.

"The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

Did the Democrats on the committee have their respective minds made up going in?
I'm sure most probably did. However, I do believe that had she been horrible and unbelievable during her testimony, most would have reconsidered. A few of the republicans were moved to reconsider because she was believable and credible, but it appears they will ultimately fall in line with their party's demands.

Get Judge under oath to say what it meant since he used the same term. Get testimony from others at the school as to what it meant. Look for any uses where it meant fart.

Well, the committee members could have done that, not that I think any sane person would, but they were free to subpoena and have people take testimony on farting or 3-ways or to see if you screw your one-eye goats ass.

Heck, you can go start your own investigation anytime you want, why don't you keep us posted?

reconsider what? They were all "no's" before these allegations surfaced - they're just shuffling the reason to what they think is most publicly palatable.

It'd be incredibly hard. But as a start you'd look for all recorded uses of the word that you can locate. Any appearance in dictionaries. Look at the etymology (appears to originate as a contraction of butt fu**). Get Judge under oath to say what it meant since he used the same term. Get testimony from others at the school as to what it meant. Look for any uses where it meant fart.

Also, I don't think there's any clear view on what the standard of proof would be in an impeachment.
Knowing junior high kids. It just as easily could have originated from the sound a quasi-silent fart made in gym class.

"boof"

That's the problem with all of ya'll's posts. The only thing that matters is what it meant to the two people who wrote it to one another in a yearbook 36 years ago. Good luck.

The Constitutional terms "convicted" and "conviction" would suggest that an impeachment is more likened to a criminal proceeding, but you are correct that there is no defined standard of proof. But, in the alternative, how would one set about proving, by a preponderance of the evidence, what he meant by slang terminology in his yearbook?
