We can talk criminal standards when we get in a criminal trial. Not there yet. If an employer hears that a prospective employee has a history of getting drunk and fondling women at the bar (a crime), he doesn't have to hold a trial to determine whether or not he wants to hire the guy. He can just decide that he wants to hire someone who doesn't have this reputation.

Who's making that claim? Do those people stating he has a bad reputation stand to benefit substantially from him not being hired?

As of late Thursday, 47 Republican senators had pledged to vote for Kavanaugh at the scheduled full Senate vote on Tuesday. The outstanding Republicans were Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Jeff Flake of Arizona, and Mike Enzi of Wyoming. Enzi is expected to vote in support of Kavanaugh, but has said he won’t announce his position until he votes.

It’s been stated that Collins, Flake, Murkowski, and Manchin are believed to be a bloc all voting one way.

R’s can lose one vote and still have the tie breaker in Pence also. There is a lot of speculation Manchin is a yes but just wants to not show his hand. If that’s true as well as the other speculation Pence’s tie breaker shouldn’t be needed.
