The group says it is serious and diligent about evaluating candidates without regard to ideology. But there is reason to wonder whether Alberto R. Gonzales, who was White House counsel at the time, might have had a point when he told the group eight years ago that its help would not be needed.

The bar association is, after all, a private trade association, not an arm of the government. It takes public and generally liberal positions on all sorts of divisive issues. And studies suggest that candidates nominated by Democratic presidents fare better in the group’s ratings than those nominated by Republicans.

Despite the echo chamber here reaching one conclusion, I think this is going to be poorly received nationally, if they rush this through. It’s probably the best choice at this point.

I don’t care for Kavanaugh and don’t fully understand why he was the choice but oh well.

He’s not being rushed through. He was nominated 3 months ago and began his personal interviews with Senators. Grassley stated that confirmation hearings would begin on Sept 4th. Not one person suggested this timeline was rushed.

I think the democrats are at a crossroads right now where they need to he careful. We are at the dip of the law of diminishing returns. If the democrats roll out another accuser itll be the boy who cried wolf and I think itll cost them democratic votes, not just the independents.

This has taken 20-30 days more than any other nominee and hes been asked more questions than any other nominee and despite knowing about the allegation, none of those questions suggested sexual misconduct. it's not rushed. The time the democrats had was simply mismanaged and mishandled. They had time and an extraordinary amount of chances.

I respect Dershowitz’s opinion and am always willing to hear him out. In fact he makes several points which we also agree with. Here are just two of them.

Right now, the testimony of the two witnesses has created a credibility tie. Such ties are best resolved by looking at corroborating evidence. At the moment, Kavanaugh has the better of the corroborating evidence, especially the statements by the other people who were allegedly at the party where Ford claims Kavanaugh attacked her. But that could change after a full and thorough FBI investigation and further testimony.

Realistically, it is unlikely that the Senate will proceed in the manner of a court of law, because political truth has replaced scientific truth in our highly partisan age.

Dershowitz wants to remove as much doubt as possible to a SCOTUS appointment. He also acknowledges the political landscape we live in.

I agree with many of his points. However I’ll still point to the vast amount of scrutiny K has already had, a complete lack of corroborating eveidence in fact they’re outright refuttals, and the very political landscape we live in as reason to continue forward.

I’d support more investigation if the moonbats had acted in good faith. They intentionally chose to NOT do just that. So F them - confirm Kavanaugh now.

DiFi sat on these allegations for over a month, a whole month they could have been investigating the allegations. This isn’t being rushed, you are just brainwashed.

I think I've said this already but the combination of the calendar and witnesses denying the gathering ever happened, leads me to believe the crime scene, location and date doesnt exist at this time. without that... we need to move on and this allegation isnt worth the internet space this post is taking up.
