Idk man. These kids are more experienced than most of us adults are and we understand that whatever we say is subject to scrutiny. They have thousands of followers and KNOW that they will all see. He knew the fastest way to get prayers for his dad was social media. So why wouldn’t the same be true when he’s complaining about a lack of birthday wishes or get his message to “thug with him” out there? It was a calculated decision to do what he’s done and no words can convince me otherwise unless were suggesting the kid is just plain stupid, which I refuse to believe.
More experienced at what? Social media? Just because one knows how to use social media doesn't mean they're wise enough to refrain from saying stupid sh!t...

I agree but we all are wise enough to understand that everyone will see what we say. That’s my point.

Great way to start off at Tennessee he sounds like a real head case. I wont be shocked if when all is said and done he transfers somewhere else.

Yep. He knows he has an audience and that anything he says will get noticed. He may not be a bad kid, but at the very least he’s incredibly immature to the point you have to question whether or not he should be part of a team.

My point is that an awful lot of young people (teens/late teens/early 20s) don't think much past the end of their own nose. I do have a little experience with this having helped raise five kids into and thru this age range.....

I wanted to believe that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time with the burglary thing but by saying “come “thug” with me” before ever being released on suspension for such a “thuggish” act? Come on man! Kinda sends a message (implied or otherwise) that he wants to bring people (teammates?) with him.

Again. Idk if the Instagram post is even real because I haven’t seen it myself but once again, where there’s smoke there’s fire and he’s definitely drawn attention to himself in the recent past.

I understand your point. I just think he’s coherent enough to understand what he’s doing before hitting “send”. He’s in a spotlight unlike any of us and I’m sure he’s been talked to several times about said spotlight.

If he thinks about it for more than five whole seconds, maybe.. One thing that's not in doubt, he's old enough to suffer the consequences of his actions...

It's a shame the human brain can't instantly mature and "wise up" the day it's considered an adult..

But every athlete at every school at every position is his same age when they got to this point and very few dig themselves into this kind of hole.

I would counter that the quarterback and leader of our team should be expected to be better than that "awful lot".

Never said they shouldn't be. Physical talent is easy to spot, mental talent and character, not so much... If recruiting were easy, everyone could do it....

After the bday thing, you'd think that someone, even Willis and French..... who've kept mouse quiet through all of this, would have given him the word: "Keep your da*n mouth shut! Don't be an idiot. Chill and we'll make it through this."

I get he's frustrated but after the first social media outburst, he's either not getting good advice or he's not listening to good advice. I'm afraid it's the latter.

When you put things on social media it’s for the masses to see. Which makes even more concerning because it was a calculated decision
He's a QB that wants to be the starter. QB's are the face and leader of the team.
Everything you say and do shines a certain light on your team.
If he wants the job, he's going to have to smarten up.
At this point he shouldn't have been posting anything other than an apology from the incident and remained quiet until he's back in pads and practicing.

So he’s still not back? I thought Jimmy Hyams claimed he was.

I know he’s young and will hopefully show better judgement and Learn from his mistakes before it’s too late, but his off field behavior/attitude reminds me of Johnny Manziel. He had loads of talent, but you could see lots of red flags with his behavior/immaturity in different tweets and Off field incidents, and it finally caught up with him and derailed his career.

The fact that he didn’t do just that either says he’s not too smart or just doesn’t care. I’m going with the latter because I’m sure he’s been told that numerous times as a qb. He lives in a bubble now and most kids in his position understand that.
