Makes zero sense unless he told us no. Here's why. Even if they are interested in a portal guy, you don't turn away a sure thing for a possibility. Has this portal guy given us assurances he'll pick us over whoever else is pursuing him? That just doesn't seem logical that they have without visiting, and as far as we know, they haven't visited. So it doesn't make sense that we'd turn away a guy that CRG has supposedly been in hot pursuit of to possibly get someone better. You don't act on "possibly". That's how you lose out all around.

And wait to decide while on the visit? Either they got news of commits, or there was a snag on the amount. Possible SC made a new offer?

Something seems to be up more than "they have interest in some portal guys". They've spent too much time recruiting this guy just to say "no thanks". If he was ready to commit, I have to believe they would take his commitment. Unless they actually got another commitment first. It's just strange.

That's assuming that AP's info is accurate. If it is, then it seems that they have definitely gotten at least one commitment from someone pretty damn good in the portal.

That's what I'm saying. They're not passing on Elijah Davis unless they already have a commit from someone they like as much or better in hand.

I don’t think AP would have said what he said if he was just choosing to go elsewhere. Based on his history, he would have said: “Feels like [Other School] has momentum here,” or something to that effect.

Hilarious that those fans think their single H2H win against us under Beamer means they should win all recruiting battles against us now. They have zero clue how recruiting works. And zero clue that a 10-2 season and NY6 bowl is better than 8-4.

There might not be a fanbase in country that has a higher undeserved opinion of their status in CFB than South Carolina.

I think most of us would take a proven power five transfer over a community college player, there are always exceptions. I agree I wonder if they already have something lined up. We need productive big guys up front anyway we can get them.
