'20 JUCO DE Jordan Davis (Mississippi State commit)

I don't understand why parents have to make their own kid's decisions for them? Obviously Davis has the right to go wherever he wants too. I just don't think it's right for parents to put pressure on their kids to go to a certain school whether it's Tennessee, Bama, etc.

First you accuse her of accepting a job and money from Nick Saban and now you claim she is making the decision for Davis. Where in the world are you getting this from? I haven't seen anything reported by any reputable source that this has happened? Did you happen to ask your magic 8 ball?

Plenty of time to get her on campus. We have seen this before eventually they give in and at least take a look for their kids sake

This message board has no affect on recruiting....please stop being so naive in thinking it does.

I am going to assume that you have never talked to a recruit that has been shown screen shots of messages on a message board. I know a recruit that was not involved with Tennessee that was shown comments from an Auburn board that influenced his decision to go elsewhere.

Each school has people whose focus is to watch the message boards. They are asked to report incidents where posters claim to be in contact with recruits and they copy posts. That is where much of the negative recruiting comes from.

I don't know about about Jordan, but its been proven a couple times that some recruits and families do read this board. When we get chatting about a player its not uncommon for the website to be on the front page of a google search for that player.

Kids make decisions but good parents guide them toward looking at everything and making a good informed decision. So, hopefully his mom will come to Knoxville to see for herself and then they will sit down and discuss and compare what is best for him. A good parent would do this. Kid is getting to choose between two major SEC schools. Now, I hate Bama. But a good parent who has no hate toward either school will sit down and help him figure out what is really best for him. She should at least visit so she will have all the info and see for herself then make the best decision. Either way, he should get an education and get to play football. Good situation for him.

Excellent post. I love UT but my kids come first.

Adding to the War Room the VQ podcast today said Davis actually tried to flip to Tennessee , he called him mom on the way home to tell her and she said no way. LOL They said no chance he ends up a Vol. Not hard to figure out what$ going on here.

But that can't be, someone here already said mom isn't making the decision for him. It's better than the hs coaches that pretty much do it, or at least seriously influence the decision. And not for pure reasons. People doubt that also, but it happens too often.

I haven't been following the thread, who said that? They flat out said/implied she is making the decision and it wont be Tennessee. I guess you could argue its better than coaches or handlers pushing kids, but it's still bad if a parent is flat out adamant about it. Like I said it's not hard to see what is going on.

Maybe Davis will pull a Landon Collins and just commit where he wants to go. His mom will get over it. Maybe... :)

Any kid that gives a crap what a few people on any message board says, much less base the biggest decision of his life to this point on that..then he is stupid. For one thing any rival teams fans could be posting negative crap...who knows. That is just dumb.
