'20 JUCO DE Jordan Davis (Mississippi State commit)

I believe Sabans head will explode on the sideline one day

Entirely possible. If you're Carvin and Davis the question is do you want to take the chance of being an Alabammer post Saben. When he goes one way or another it's back to the woodshed for Alabama.

If LWS is still over here ask him about the talent Kiffin had on campus for his camp while coach at UT. He had a crazy camp roster that included damn near the top guys at many positions including a group from Louisiana OBJ, , Jarvis Landry, 3 of the top 7 qbs, 3 of top 4 rbs, and that was just offense. On defense it was crazy too Ego ferguson, Luc, Elam, Corey Miller, the DT from Miller school who committed/decommitted, and so on. It was easily loaded like a Rivals camp. Not sure your issue Rish.

It was also labeled the most unorganized camp ever at UT and cost us a shot at multiple high ranked guys. Volume without organization and quality is chaos. Just like that azzholes's first and only class. Never defend that scumbag. The only good thing he did was kicking DeVinner out.

Every year there are rumors about Saban. One year he was retiring, one year he was leaving for Texas, then he was leaving to go back to the NFL. Yet, they finished #1 in recruiting each of those years.

Almost every year, they lose assistants to other programs. This year is no different.

I have no explanation for why Alabama is off to a slow start. Maybe it is by design and maybe it is a reaction to the title game loss. I don't know. But, if I were a betting man, I would bet that by February 7, 2018, the "experts" will have Alabama's 2018 class rated higher than ours.

I agree my friend.

They'll back uo the brinks truck and pay whomever they want. That coach will take the job and have a loaded squad and likely win a NC.

That camp was very organized. The camp that wasnt organized was Dooley and DD was the coach who told Byron to kick rocks. I was present both times.

Nope. Dooley never had hyped camps. Kiffin did and over 300 recruits showed of which there were long waits and overwhelmed staff. It was a debacle.

Not in coaching but I have known a few high level businessmen who have retired and were dead within a couple of years. It was like a major shock to their physical body.

Look at Bear Bryant, he retired and was dead within a year. Hell, even after my Mom retired, her health slowly went downhill and she died within 5 years of retirement.

And I even get it. I mean if I was a coach with almost unlimited resources, and zero chance of being investigated for violations, I would buy every coach, handler and trainer in the south that I needed to.

I'm just mostly kidding DeJuan by the way, but it would not surprise me either.

Or be a colossal flop seeing as though what you're suggesting doesn't exactly always work out that way. Sounds like you are around a lot of people who seems to worship Bama to the point of losing all objectivity.

Regardless of how well Bama finishes, does this indicate a "slow down" of Saban's drive?

They have a stacked team now and will probably have a great season, which will bring the recruits, but is this the beginning of the end? AS A UT FAN I SAY YES!

I hate to admit it, but I have to agree with DE1 on this. They're still absolutely LOADED. The worst part is that with a coach like Saban, who has possibly the most secure HC job in the country, you have plenty of time to go on and begin succession planning for his departure too. Saban will go out on his own terms, and he's likely given the school plenty of advance warning so they can find a suitable replacement, unfortunately. Will there be some drop off? Of course, but until Bama starts getting beat consistently on the field, they will be a powerhouse sadly.

Na, I don't buy that. I'm sure Bama will throw the bank at some big name and that big name coach will have unlimited resources and blue chip players top to bottom. However, I don't think they're going to be able to recreate the Saben success. At least not with the kind of consistency they're used to. Unless they hire Urban Mire I whole heartedly believe they're going to crash quickly. And even then they'd lose games they shouldn't.

They'll get Dabo and still be good but not the level they are now.
