Agree about Jenkins.

Kid is sure handed and runs excellent routes. Seen him a few times here in GA. Perfect slot WR.

People seem to forget that Croom was just a RS freshman. Give a rest people.

croom started coming on at the end of the season. he is learning how to use his size :)birgits_giggle:). I think he was hurt quite a bit also.

I think he will have a breakout year in 2014.

Yeah they did, when they brought in a Juco WR... Barring injury, Malone, Von, and North won't come off the field much.

You bring Pearson in regardless. There will be plenty of reps to go around. They rotate a lot of receivers. They now have the depth to do it.

I agree with Pearson but Malone could easily over seat him for the second receiver spot opposite of North. According to volquest he is better than what Marquez was at any point last season and really turning some heads

That isn't what VQ said. The quote was "Malone is very polished for a true freshman. Much more so than Marquez North was a year ago." He isn't near the physical specimen of Marquez North. North is bigger, stronger, and faster.

Who is the slot in your eyes between the three?

I have no idea. I would think either Pearson or Howard. The offensive development in the spring should be really exciting to watch. We took a bad offense and added 3 elite playmakers (hopefully), 2 TE's that should be better than anything we had on the roster last season, and should have a completely different QB situation. I think the offense could take a huge leap in 2014, like from 2011 to 2012 huge.

Wow.

Would love to see that...as long as our d doesn't take the 11-12 leap also.

I'm tempted to believe this. I think it's debatable, but we may have equal or better overall offensive talent in 2014 relative to 2012. My only concern is that in 2012, we were relying on talented juniors and seniors that had been in the same system for while. This year, we're relying largely on underclassmen and newcomers. Until I hear how guys are progressing in the spring, I'm not sure quite yet what to expect.

2015 should be amazing, though, for sure. We almost certainly will be a top 25 team then.

Pearson or North, Malone needs to be on the outside. His deep speed is the best of the bunch.

I agree Malone needs to be outside. Don't know as much about Pearson... but could see north inside working. His strength in high school was as a runner, jet sweeps or otherwise, so maybe that would open up his after the catch potential?

Say north is in slot, Malone outside... could pig work outside, too? Just curious.

I've heard some say that North is faster than Malone. Do we know which truly has the higher top end speed?

Would be interesting to see. Neither are elite burners but Malone's long strides and polished route nuances may make him a threat to take the top off the d, while North's physicality may allow him to work over the middle more.

Malone is a smooth glider. His speed is there, but he moves effortlessly and breaks ankles. I'd say North probably gets him in a dead sprint, but Malone has moves on top of moves with crazy leaping ability.
