I disagree. This is an all-time great draft. Defense might be the stronger side of the ball but there is still a lot of talent on offense.
The class is more than fine at QB. Contrary to the prevailing narrative this year's draft has 2 surefire franchise QBs in Dobbs and Kaaya. Which I would say is typical. It also has one who could develop into a franchise QB in Mahomes. And then several who could be halfway decent starters/backups like Watson and Trubisky. Its not great but it ain't bad either. Its an AVERAGE quarterback class.
At RB this draft is loaded. At the top there are franchise runners like Kamara, McCaffrey, Conner, and Mixon. And the group is so deep that teams will be able to find good starters in rounds 4-7. The wide receiver group is average this year but it has a generational talent at the top in Corey Davis. The tight end group this year is exceptional. Maybe the third strongest position in this draft after safeties and edge rushers. Sick talent and the top and incredible depth throughout.
Overall this draft class reminds me a lot of 1996 (which is arguably the best of the last 30 years). Maybe not among the best in NFL history in terms of future hall of famers but definitely should be among the best ever in terms of the number of players who go on to be pro-bowlers. This draft is loaded with pro-bowl caliber players on both sides off the ball. In 5-6 years we'll all look back at this draft and go "WOW...that class was loaded." Tons of depth. Teams will still be picking up quality starters deep into the 4th round and possibly the 5th round.
This is a really good draft class.
The QB class is pretty weak. Also, no Fournette? He definitely is a franchise RB.
