lol:very insightful.:good!:
So in other words, nobody. I'm not manipulating ****. You are trying to pretend that Dobbs is remotely considered a 2nd round draft pick this year.....he isn't and there isn't a halfway intelligent person that believes so.
I didn't think elaboration was needed when the body of work is this extensive.
I'm sure when he's drafted will be a good day for discussion and when he makes/doesn't make a roster too.
Then when he's finally cut will be another day of discussions about how he's too good for the NFL anyway.
you're right about that. why elaborate when every measurable statistic for a college qb says he was wholly different than your statement.
i guess you're another one of those purely "eye test" folks that think stats are for losers. it makes it so much harder to prove yourself right when your forced to use something more objective than your own opinion.
You absolutely manipulated the argument, my dear. I responded to someone who called it "laughable", you came back with "likely". You're not particularly bright.
Nobody? How many directors of pro personnel do you think there are? How many contacts do you think each has? That's one person I've asked.
Again, use your question marks. You don't know anything at all. You can't ask anyone who does this for a living. I can ask a coach with the Raiders, you know where their GM went to school? I can ask a director of pro personnel and I can ask a guy who coached QBs in the NFL as well as college. You can ask........me, your new daddy.
When he's cut "surprisingly" early, I'll comment about it.
But really, it's just an opinion. And I don't think a stats argument can change my mind when I've been watching him for years.
i've watched him too, and i'm not saying he's the 2nd coming or anything.
but to say he's not a good college qb, is short sighted when you consider the whole picture offensively while at UT...
and no one knows what his NFL future holds. i'd just say 3 years ago, it never even occurred to me that he'd be on anyone's day 1 or 2 draft boards. if nothing else, he's at least done enough to put himself in that position.
but to say he's going to get cut surprisingly early is no different than D4h saying he's going to be elite.
i think there's probably a happy medium there in the middle, more realistically.
On this particular topic, yes it seems I was dead wrong.
I'm in agreement with you on this being much higher than his play would indicate he should go, but the Dak effect is more influential on our society than Das EFX. Teams have become infatuated with thedobfather. Not having a QB coach makes teams believe he's got a lot more upside than many Tennessee fans seem to believe. Scripting his own pro day made NFL people get all hot and bothered. Hes played this part of the process flawlessly.
If there was no Romo injury, Dobbs goes in 5. Imo
Today Mcshay said he would go early second if he doesn't sneak into late 1
Take that for data
Patriots in the first round. Would be epic.
I'm hoping for the best for Dobbs, but a part of me really doesn't want to see him go in the 1st Round. Seen too many QBs move up that high, then there's huge pressure to "throw them into the water" too soon, before they're ready. See Heath Shuler.
I'd much rather Dobbs get into a good situation regardless of what round he's drafted in. At least if it's the Steelers, though, there won't be pressure for him to start immediately with Roethlisberger there, so that's one of the few 1st round situations that might be good for him. Definitely don't want to see him go to a bad team, where he's going to have a terrible O-line, mediocre coaching, and likely throw a bunch of INTs, and get banged up.
