Jordan Allen Transferring

Happens every year at every program.

Of course, but that doesn't make it any less unfortunate or frustrating, especially for a position grouping and offense that's struggling like ours.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember any 4 star lately that we invested in for three years that saw the field as rarely as J. Allen....At least the last few years......I'm sure there might be a couple (Savion Williams). Usually they're gone way before the 3rd season. Makes it a little worse considering JUCO's are usually brought in to make an immediate impact.

No, but THIS isn’t indicative of the mess we’re in. He’s a converted linebacker who can’t get on the field. Given it every shot and looking for a last one. The “sinking ship” narrative loses any significance if you reach for it.
I agree with you on Allen, but what about Wolfe?

That’s a sledgehammer to the gonads. Even if he’s never physically right as he was pre-injury, he was solid and THAT fits the analogy of fleeing a sinking ship.

Agree... 😬

Hudson Wolfe flipping to Ole Miss..

How can any kid or parent study Kiffin and trust him to be aroiund? Maybe he is running out of options....

Edited to add...... My unsupported hope is he had a player pipeline that told him the kid from LSU was coming to join our other TE in this class.

That happens when you take a 4* DE, try to turn him into a LB, and then move him to TE, in an offense that inexplicably doesn't try to utilize TEs because the head coach is a moron.
Don’t think so. He wants to continue as a WE/TE at another program... if you read the article. 4* JUCO doesn’t always translate to SEC success.

If we weren't so terrible this year, no one would be batting an eye at this transfer. I wish the young man well, but this is not an indictment on anything. Just a young man looking to get to play. Every single thread ends up in the sinking ship argument.
I would agree, but in recent weeks we have had a few decommits and transfers so I see why it raises speculation. Cimaglia possibly gave a little insight as well. Regardless, not a good look and things appear to be shaky on Rocky Top.

I'm as bummed about it as the next guy. Just don't see the point in stretching for examples of evidence. I guess people are running out of ideas.

He was a DE in JUCO, and Pruitt recruited him and tried to turn him into a LB. Considering the state of our existing TEs, I don't think we have the coaching prowess in Niedermeyer, capable of converting a DE, to a TE.

Especially in our offense, which doesn't seem to utilize TEs at all.

If he's dead set on being a TE, he's making the best move by transferring out of this program.

I read his Exit Interview on the Athletic and he said that we were one important piece away from basically being a decent football team. Read into that what you will.
