I'm the least likely guy on this board to give a "Mulligan" to a coach. But I am not sure how much we can conclude about Pruitt minus those 3 sure (well almost) wins. I don't think I would have been happy with another 8 win season if UT had played the original schedule. I don't think that would have indicated the kind of progress we should be looking for. However, I am not sure there's enough depth on this roster to drop an FCS team and two mid-majors then replace them with TAM and Auburn.
OTOH, most SEC teams are in the same boat. Their depth is going to be challenged. Injury management will be critical. Even a Covid quarantine could turn a game or the season. Statistically, only about 20% of a population even under constant close contact will catch Covid. We have isolated ship outbreaks that prove that pretty conclusively. So across the league... about 20% of the players could catch it. You can probably say at least 5%.
The season could hinge on who has more in those likely to catch it percentages.
There is also evidence that a previous Coronavirus Cold left many people with significantly higher resistance to Covid. The number of games lost by critical players could come down to whether a school caught that Coronavirus last fall... or didn't.
