I was literally about to post the same conclusion! This is a coach getting out recruited by Pruitt right now who’s trying to throw shade. He doesn’t really believe what he’s saying, and took the opportunity to attack when he knew it would be anonymous. I suspect it’s a coach who will out of the league in a couple of years...
You are correct that CJP could be staring down a 5-5 record in year three whereas the previous coach won 8 regular season games in his 3rd year playing a 12 game schedule . Three of those wins were against Bowling Green, Western Carolina & North Texas. I certainly hope that IF (big if there too ) The Big Orange get to play all 10 games this season in an SEC only schedule they achieve a better mark than .500. If they do I think that most reasonable fans would give CJP & the team a pass for the fact that they played a brutal schedule under less than ideal circumstances. If they win 4 or less Pruitt will have some questions to answer and changes to make and rightfully so. Personally I see 6-4 as the most likely outcome with 7-3 most likely being the ceiling .I think it's nonsense... However JP is staring down a schedule that could easily end up 5-5 if we have the same poor QB play we've seen. Hopefully that doesn't happen but that would be a tough pill to swallow in year 3
