JJ Peterson's status, requirements and timetable after classes begin

And with negative two days to spare. Haters.

It's over: Top-50 signee JJ Peterson finally joining Vols
The waiting is finally over.
JJ Peterson is a Tennessee Vol.
The prized linebacker signee finally has been given the green light to head to Knoxville will join the Vols on Sunday after receiving word from the NCAA Eligibility Center on Friday, Rush Propst, his former coach at Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Ga., told GoVols247 on Friday.
Peterson is expected to begin practicing next week, though he'll have to go through the NCAA-mandated acclimation period before his first workout in full pads.
Ideally the 6-foot-2, 231-pounder would have been on campus for all of summer and all of camp to position himself to be an immediate contributor for the Vols as a freshman, but now Tennessee will have to work him into things while preparing for games every week, though college football's new redshirt rules, which allow players to play in four games at any point of a season and not lose a full season, mean the Vols can take it slowly with Peterson and perhaps unleash him later in the season.

BREAKING: Following the team, JJ Peterson will run alone through the tunnel onto the field on Saturday with Enter Sandman playing on the loud speaker. He will then join his teammates in shorts and a T shirt on the sideline.

Redshirts are pointless for players of Peterson's caliber. He'll be going pro as soon as he's eligible. Especially if academics is as big of a problem as reports are saying.

He probably didn't have much academic support. Let's give him a break. He's got all he needs now.

Wait wait wait. This absolutely can’t be right. There are people on here that know more than everyone else and have already alerted us that it’s not happening. The coaches and everyone else are CLEARLY mistaken.

Just checked the crystal ball. It says for the next two weeks JJ's gonna be studying, running and puking. Alas, welcome.

Sad but hearing every day about how we are going to redshirt him and this and that sounded ridiculous. I was far from a scholar student but if he can’t be qualified to Tennessee how in the hell can he make semester to semester? Kid probably should get his academics in line and get help at a jr. college and then apply in next season or 2.
He did qualify, and they have tutors. Pretty simple.

The eagle has landed in the Holy Land
