JG is the starter against Bama (merged)

EXACTLY!!

You are the first person to mention that❤.

He is one of the best DCs in America and he thinks JG can win games???

So this guy in intentionally screwing things up passive-aggressively...
It just doesn’t make sense. I’d roll with Bailey and not look back. Sure he will make mistakes but so will JG. So it’s a wash, I’d go with the future. JG’s time has passed.

That's about as close as you are going to get to... "yeah, he's in trouble". Obviously he doesn't want to shelve JG. I think all of us would prefer that he perform like a RS Sr QB with his experience should.

The words "earn it in practice" however weren't in the message until now. That pretty much means they're debating options.

Exactly.

Everybody here who has ever played sports has played with guys who rocked practice and sucked in games and vice versa sucked in practice and then under the lights come game time became superman.

You dobt just go off practice when the guy playing is killing the team. At some point you take an entire half and see what you got.

I don't think you throw HB to the wolves by starting him against Bama. You let JG take that beating on the chin as a last service to our team.

Split reps in practice between HB/JG this week and let HB take over in the second half against Bama's 4th string.

The team belongs to from the 2nd half of Bama going forward.
Seriously what do we have to gain by playing JG....there isn't one thing you can say that can convince me

Pruitt seems like a good coach but Guarantano could set us back two years with his crappy play... one this year where we get minimal results and at least one next year because our younger quarterbacks did not get reps.... smh.

At the end of the day, we are talking about a guy who couldn't figure out how to wear a neck gaiter and just cost the program 6 figures.

No one should be surprised at this juncture that the QB room is a tough chore for him.

Just add that neck-gaiter faux pas to the pile of complaints I have with this guy. It's like having Rashida Talib as our HC.

Per our previous discussion, I never agreed or disagreed, I merely played a little devil's advocate. My statement today specifically says he CAN’T be that dumb. Stubborn as hell definitely, but nut dumb.

As far as Salter, de1conley said last night after talking to someone on staff, that's exactly what's happening. Now you can take what de1 says with a grain of salt, but it wouldn't be the first time a staff has done something similar.

All that said, IF true, I rhink it's a ****ing NUTS strategy....
Yeah i read that post from him.

And i think he himself said he didn't believe it when he heard it. Because that would mean they don't believe Bailey is the guy either...

Yeah we need depth, but if they are thinking Salter is the move, then Bailey might get the Maurer treatment soon.

I'm not very knowledgeable about a lot of this, but what did the fired defensive coach supposedly do wrong to be singled out?

Brumbaugh apparently wasn't getting it done in practice.

That seems to be the only measure of success for Pruitt.

We have gone from a head coach proclaiming Champion of Life to a head coach proclaiming Champions of Practice.

Jeremy Pruitt on why he made the move to get rid of Jimmy Brumbaugh now: "If it's not working out, it's better to do it right now."

It hasn't been working out with JG in 5 years

I have read they are extremely high on Salter, FWIW....

Patience, folks. This is all part of the Gruden Long Game.

I heard a report that Haslam's plane was seen skywriting "Soon" in the sky late yesterday afternoon.

It's all coming together.

Soon.
I laughed at this one.

But seriously, a friend of a friends lawn care guy (who's in the know), knows a dude over at the airport. According to him, Haslem's plane was in route to Las Vegas after the game on Saturday. Is it time to start the Gruden thread? I think it is. Soon.....
