I get what you're saying, but at the same time I guess I'll never get it (symbolism stuff). Probably a good thing I don't go around giving hand signals anyway. The occasional wave with a half way peace symbol thrown in maybe....

I agree. But then I look at google news and see stuff like this. Sigh. When I was a kid, if you looked at it, you got punched in the arm.

This is the important part @ this JB story to me. We have lost a lot of folks to the idea that people's speech is the problem, should be punished viciously, and therefore must be CONTROLLED. Doing this as the tyrants rub their hands together of anticipation of that great day where they will be able to fully "manage" speech. Then it will be checkmate for all of us.

Funny that people continue to call them kids. I am a proud Iraq war veteran and it is disturbing to me that we ask 18 to 21 year olds to go and fight a war and we call them young men and women but when it comes to football we call the same age people kids and then talk about how much stress they are under. Why can't we just say that he should have acted like he had some sense and kept his mouth shut and respected the police. He done the crime and it is incumbant on him to do the time. If our "kids" in the military had done this they would be punished. So I wonder why a lot of people on this board feel like he shouldn't be

I refer to college kids as kids, as a Marine Sergeant Major I often referred to junior Marines as kids. All the same, junior troops, while I love them and would put my life on the line for them....they make dumb immature kid like decisions....I know I was once one of them..

I know I can be a bit cynical. But, when I watch that production and read the narrative they produced, I get a serious feeling that entire thing is fabricated. Maybe not. Bizarre.

I'm refrigerator white as they come. Grew up among rednecks left and right. By the blood of Jesus and His opening my eyes, I purged the ridiculous idea of racial superiority decades ago. But, still, I honestly wouldn't know where to even FIND a single "white supremacist" like the media and politically motivated people banter on about constantly. And that square in the midst of deep south rural Georgia! I'm not saying that they are not anywhere. But, dang, this looks like the biggest fear mongered bogyman creation I've seen. We live in an odd world.
