I see what you’re saying and it does have merit but if you’re looking for trouble, you can find it just about anywhere. If you're a southerner with questionable decision making and morals, Atlanta is a horrible choice to play professional sports.. That was even accurate 35 years ago with Brett Favre. The worst case was clearly Michael Vick but lest we forget
When I lived in the city in the late 90s , it was still a cool city with reasonably decent leadership and culture. Today, it's like the switch has been flipped. Seems like nearly everyone on the street at night dreams of being a rapper or posse of a rapper.
A city that at one time had a thriving black middle class is now going down the toilet. Everyone in government knows it, but they also know any attempt to fix the problem will lose them their job.
Pierce and other guys with bad reputations from other cities, go to ATL and the brakes are not only off but have been completely removed from the car.
If I were an agent for a athlete with clear behavioral issues, I would actively avoid a list of cities:
Atlanta
Miami
Los Angeles
Las Vegas
New York
Memphis
Dallas
And I certainly would keep them away from their own hometowns
Pearce needed to start over and get away from his past decisions, friends, and family. Atlanta was not that place.
Some guys are gonna have issues regardless of their locationsIf you're a southerner with questionable decision making and morals, Atlanta is a horrible choice to play professional sports.. He was gonna be with RJ regardless of where he landed. I’m not putting it on her. Some guys though just can’t handle relationships.I see what you’re saying and it does have merit but if you’re looking for trouble, you can find it just about anywhere.
And I think in this case, he is the trouble and it could have happened anywhere, no matter the city.
Bro people have done so much worse and still played again in the NFL. The NFL isn’t a church league. There will be some type of punishment but he’ll get another opportunity. The NFL should be the least of his worries. Now if you saying he’s going to jail for the next 10yrs then obviously his career would be overBUT, hitting a cop during your getaway maybe the straw...
