Jalen Hurd drafted by the Niners

You seem to be in the minority on this thread. The kid never had a bad word in public to say about UT.

There is a good chance Hurd will be signing autographs while your signing in to the wall clock before you open your tin lunch pail for that ham sandwich and thermos for that leftover coffee.

Your blessing is in front of you or you've received it. Be happy at Jalen is being blessed as well.

As an H-Back/split end he would've been an outstanding blocker because of his physicality and pass pro if needed. I wanted him to go to New England because he can be used like Rob Gronkowski.

Gronk was 260 lbs. I don't think Jalen Hurd could step in and manhandle people the same way with his 226 lb frame.

Will be interesting to see what happens with him. Definitely got the skills to succeed. Not sure he has the desire, especially if he takes a big shot going over the middle. Time will tell.

Watch his Baylor highlights. He caught the ball all over the field. Time will tell.

And now, almost thru the 7th round, and not one Vol picked!. As said earlier, "Thanks Butch"! Hurd went to Baylor and got drafted in the 3rd as the 3rd pick! I must admit I actually bought into the brick by brick, for a short time, not a long time at all. Ugh

Still a head scratcher...guy goes to Baylor for one or two years and gets drafted. Makes you wonder if he would've even got a look if he stayed...
If he went as a wide receiver? No. Because we didn't have any QB's who could get the ball to him.

Hurd absolutely blasted the prior coaches (rightfully so) and trainers after he left.

Let's face it. Hurd still quit during the middle of a game while Butch f'ed this/Kamara situations royally. Lots of blame to go around

Hurd is a solid ball player, he will do well in the league. I wish things would have worked out different for him here. Everyone has to learn and move on but a grown man in Butch is easier to find fault with than a 20 year old who’s future high earning career was being beaten out of him being coached by said man.

Glad he stayed healthy and got a second chance.

Hurd was set to become the all time yardage leader at Tennessee in only his 3rd year, pretty impressive, don't you think?

Hurd is 6th string on the 49ers.
Actually it’s a pretty good pick. He won’t ever make a pro bowl, but he’ll be a good situational player for them. He’ll line up in the slot, on the perimeter, and even in the backfield. They’ll use him a lot like the way the pats used Patterson this past season.

Heard the 49'ers coach say that would play him some as a second tight end. Lol!

See....VolNation was right all along!

And for the third time in five years, the Vols had no players picked.
Only SEC team with zero. All others had at least two.
Thanks Butch. Pathetic.

Hurd went to a solid San Francisco team that can give him some reps at running back as well as wide receiver.

They already have 4 much better RB.

Tevin Coleman, Jerick Mckinnon, Matt Breida, Raheem Mostert.

Hurd is going to be a situational tight end/full back/ WR and special teams player.

The hate for Hurd here is unreal. What he accomplished playing being a terrible oline is incredible, and the beating he took nearly ended his career.

He took 1 play off as he was crossing the goal line against Georgia and got his clock cleaned, but he played his heart out every game.

They should have taken his helmet after he took that hit in the Ga game and after he took the hit against SC. If those hits would have been handled properly we could be talking about how he broke records at UT on his way to the NFL.

Kid deserved every bit of success he's found. Really sucks we have to share claim with Baylor, but whatever, couldn't be happier for the guy! Only wish he didn't fall prey to Butch and could have kept on grinding out the tough yards for us. However you view his final days here, no one can deny the blood and sweat he put into his time with the Vols. Congrats bud and I look forward to watching you in the NFL for many years to come!
