What has changed so significantly about college football that makes the nfl a better alternative

I liked the idea of amateurism. Now that’s gone. At least NFL players are under contract and can’t just chase another payday anytime they want.

I’m just not interested in Tennessee minor league football. Which is what it is now.

The last two times we went to Atlanta, we gave true freshman serious run on the back end. Not saying that will happen this time but I am excited about these young kids getting some experience. Im also intrigued to see what Merritt brings athletically.
Very curious about him as well. I think he can play anywhere in the secondary.

We didn’t hear about whole lot about any of the new DBs in the spring.

Hopefully Merrit puts on some solid muscle and becomes a factor early. He’s really fast.

Hope he plays so good that he attracts a lucrative NIL deal from other colleges next spring.

My love for college football has went from a 11/10 to 7/10 these past 10 years.

I used to watch and keep up with 4 teams including the Vols in college. Now I’m good to keep up with Tennessee.

We spent all that anticipating the greatness of Nico and then he was just gone. Mike Matthew’s is only in year 2 and he’s already become a watch the off-season guy.

We’re supposed to have a SR wide receiver and DL. Both rooms of which could use veteran leadership and they both ran to FSU for more money:

I personally said Aguilar was a good player before his name was even in consideration, but now’s possibly our QB1? This dude went to HS in California. Signed with App State. Played balled out then went back to California in UCLA, for all of 4 months and is now his way back East to Knoxville and he still has 3 years of eligibility haha!

I think Heupel is doing maybe the best in college football with creating culture, and keeping guys in Knoxville but it’s still very difficult and the off-season sucks because.

We LOVE Peyton Manning. Jennings. Eric Berry.
But what if those guys played now? It’s hard to buy into guys when so many of them leave well before their 4 years because of transfer.

For real- think about this. Most of us are worried if Mike Matthews has a big year in 2025. That’s insane! That’s what’s killing it for me.
