Jakobe Thomas in the portal

lol Miami and for gosh sakes FSU?! What is with these kids. You may get more money but not near the exposure that you get at Tennessee. Miami is clearly rebuilding and Norvell may not even survive the season.
They literally don’t care as long as there is 50 dollars more than their last spot. I’m going to buy a Knoxville Uhaul franchise.

Are we sure he didn’t get beat out, or at least asked to compete for a starting spot?
Nope. Definitely not sure. Also... what did I miss about Jourdan Thomas? I don't see him mentioned when people are talking about safety. They only mention Turrentine, Farook, and Beasley but J. Thomas was the projected starter before he got hurt last year.

Ef this kid. He can just pack right on up now. Too many of us are hurting financially for me to give two flips about these kids anymore.

He redshirted last year because of the knee injury so he will be a r-jr. He is still on the team as far as I can tell.

I read somewhere there's a good chance he will not take any portal offers at all and will return to UT. Did the Knoxville media miss that or something?

Next man up, I guess.

I'm not in love with this brand of "college" football either, but this is how it's going to be, at for the foreseeable future. We just have to adapt to it.

Miami does seem to have respect for our roster. I know they made a push for Boo Carter as well in December.

Questions...

1. From December to now, how many players have exited from Tennessee and how many have we gained in the portal?

2. What is our scholly roster total right now?

What man? Haha.
We lost Slaughter, Charles, and now Thomas.
Also Brooks graduated after his outstanding year.

4 safeties gone in one off-season when you expected 3 to be returning is not ideal.

Beasley to safety is smart, but a lot of 2nd string rotation guys will also be needing to play tons of special teams.

I’m sure Heupel will figure it out, but IMO it’s not as easy as “next man up”.

I didn't say it was ideal ... but Charles isn't much of a loss. All I heard over last summer was how bad our secondary was going to be and they actually improved over 2023. We'll be fine.

I hope people call out Cristobal for outbidding the rest of college football for his players but also threatens them to not hold out.

Why is it wrong for his current players to hold out and ask for money when his staff tampers with other program's players and pays them what they want to leave? I hope Miami players begin to speak out.

Either way, it won't matter. Cristobal has proven he is too inconsistent as a coach to not flub up and cost his team a pivotal game. The last two years he has fumbled a clear path to the CFP by losing to some subpar ACC team.

The last two times we went to Atlanta, we gave true freshman serious run on the back end. Not saying that will happen this time but I am excited about these young kids getting some experience. Im also intrigued to see what Merritt brings athletically.

Don’t have to adapt to anything. I can stop watching and focus more on NFL

I would pretty much agree with you, but also add that this same thing is happening at many schools, not just unique to us. 🤔🤷
