Nico was fired for two reasons; not being worth the money he was getting AND abandoning his post while his camp tries to usurp the coaching role. Either of those should get you fired.

Paying him more was never an option unless you want papa Nico running the place, because Heupel would be finished as a leader.

It's mild insanity to think Heupel doesn't survive 2025, buyout is a non-issue.

I hear people say they never want Barnes to leave cause they don’t wanna go back to Cuonzo or Donnie Tyndall. Well I never want to go back to the 11 years of Dooley, Jones & Pruitt. Heupel ain’t going anywhere for awhile unless he gets fed up.

And today, when you change coaches, you practically change rosters also. Majority of the players go in the portal & the good ones leave. You better think long about “faring the coach”

They were getting a free education. If that wasn’t enough for them they could have sat out and declared for the draft. This is about jealousy that coaches were making millions and not being held accountable for leaving to take another job. It wasn’t illegal. The players knew what they were signing up for, it only became illegal when the courts decided it was. I don’t worship courts, they are human beings that get it wrong sometimes. They got it wrong

Miami ticks me off. Cristobal wants to take the high ground and tells his players after the Nico debacle that if they hold out then get out of the program. Yet, in the same week his team is tampering behind the scenes with Jakobe, who held out from Tennessee. So I guess the standard is if it is other team's players holding out it is ok and Miami will happily give them a bigger bag, but when it comes to his own players they are told to get out? Hypocrite!
