it still sends a bad message to the QB locker room
Probably also has a better NIL package. If he has more years. Enter the portal again or stick around.CO dude is already a winner, though, because he got out of the sideshow that Prime could create at any moment there.
At least Josh and Co WILL work with his fundamentals and such which by looking at Sanders in the NFL...... uh, might not have happened at CO.
Why do we need to see what we got in bench guys that might not hang around. The way things are players are school shopping. Worry about what you got for the current year.I agree. I like Joey-I really do, but we need to see what we have in the younger guys.
They are not gonna get any experience and we are gonna be stuck in the same situation next off-season that we thought we were going to be this season. AND probably lose GMac as a result with him never seeing the field.
Kicking the can always seems like a great idea -until you reach a wall with nowhere to go and it's game over
Another meh season of the emphasis apparently being trying to get your 24 year old QB 200 passing yards
Yay.
They'll probably move faster on the injunction, mostly because their is only one Plaintiff. State courts don't move any faster in actually deciding cases than federal in my experience. Sometimes it's even slower. Things vary a ton from district to district. They are also starting over from scratch. He doesn't really care about a decision on the case. Pavia's lawsuit may well have an actual decision first. The move was about getting into a more friendly jurisdiction IMO. All Joey's attorney is after is the injunction. That's why his attorney move the case from federal court to state court
Things will move faster now
What I am asking is what is keeping a judge from Rolling that Aguilar could play two or three more years, if the argument is about denying him from making money. If he continues taking classes, what is preventing him to keep playing for another three or four yearsIt's no different than someone graduating high school and joining the military for 4 years and then starting college at 22. It happens more than you think. MLB has a draft for high school baseball players every year. Many of them turn Pro and play in the minors for a number of years and then attend college to play sports other than baseball.
The lines have been blurred for years.
It makes you wonder why a kid out of high school would want to wait. I guess the money will have to be enough to keep him there. Why are we in Dire Straits for a quarterback every year? Are we not properly coaching those quarterbacks up, why isn't Josh playing those Young quarterbacks every chance he has?I'm probably going to be the odd man out.
I love Joey ! He brought dynamics to our program. I think we would have a better record this year with him. I know he is all Vol.. But I think he needs to move on.
I think NIL and the portal has ruined the game. In saying that I read so much about the players having no loyalty with the schools anymore. Well, sometimes the fans have no loyalty the players. Faizon has been committed for the longest, GMac is all Vol and been a backup. I just think we should let them fight it out for the starting position !
I know many of you will come back saying that we need to have loyalty to Joey.
Im just tired of players going to court when we have future Vol stars waiting....
Why do we need to see what we got in bench guys that might not hang around. The way things are players are school shopping. Worry about what you got for the current year.
After seeing CJH comments and willing to testify for Joey. I’m convinced UT and Joey already had talked before he even got on Pavia suit and probably was told by UT he’s better off filing in State court and felt they had a good chance of a good ruling. This is probably the reason UT didn’t seem to really push for a portal QB and probably just let the rumors fly
I think the market is going to soon self correct its self on HS QBs pay as more schools rather find some guy that has college playing experience.Well, for one thing-by the time the 2026 season is over-we will have paid GMac roughly $5 million and Brandon $3 million lol
I don't think even the most friendly UT court will give Joey another season in 2027. So we are gonna be right where we were yesterday minus GMac next off-season. Nobody around who has ever seen live fire
And spend about 8 million alumni $ on QBs who will never see the field over two seasons in the process lol.
Like I said, I like Joey-I really do. But the guy is an 8-4 QB at best in the SEC. It is what it is man
Would you rather have a "safe" 8-4 and play in a bowl game nobody watches or take a gamble that could see you go 2-10 or 12-0?
Quite frankly 8-4 is just purgatory man. Not good. Not bad. Just there. Botch level garbage
If that is the limit of aspirations for this program, I may be in the wrong place then. Even lowly GT is already talking smack about whipping us this fall as we have no heart.
Complete and utter mismanagement-and this coming from a guy who supported Heupel when everyone else was bashing him after the Vandy game.
