If you think they’re going to fire a coach for NCAA violations to replace him with a coach with 15 Level 1 violations on his record, I don’t know what to tell you.
Unless ESPN is using the same source of the original story. The ESPN story does not reference sources inside the AD or administration. This appears to be a typical journalistic piece of continuing to expand upon one story by adding known details, in this case, contract details and names of players who have entered the portal. Nothing new was reported.Football scoop was based of Trey Wallace, Trey is FOS. ESPN reporting things is a different story and validates those claims a little
Chris low who has as good of connections as anyone from UT has come out and says Pruitt most likely is firedUnless ESPN is using the same source of the original story. I get it. There are lots of people saying the same thing. I actually have low regard for current media types and don’t trust them to actually investigate and use reliable sources. Do you think someone within the AD actually told Chris that CJP is losing his job? I doubt that occurred. He most likely looked at the investigation story, the pause on hiring, and the players entering the portal and stated it would be difficult for CJP to return. Anyone could have written that statement.Chris low who has as good of connections with anyone from UT has come out and says Pruitt most likely is fired

We will find out soon enough, but I will continue with a hesitation on reports until the school makes an announcement.
I know of one university that has an Athletic Director who meets that definition. Guess which one.Imagine running a business where you pay a high guaranteed salary and bonuses to an employee who has never held that particular role before anywhere else, and not including a performance requirement. Couldn't happen.
It has to be that way. Otherwise a school hires a cheating coach, let's him stock the cupboard with players and is suddenly "shocked by his cheating."What I always hate about NCAA penalties, is that even with the coach/staff firing, the school still gets hit with the full force of them anyway, and it's the next coach that suffers not the one who committed the infractions.

He's gone and the school is stocked with great recruits and can hire a real coach. Rinse, repeat.
The school has to be in the know and, frankly, good at "the game" which means not hiring coaches who aren't good at "the game."
The inability to hire coaches was reported last week. ESPN reported it today. The pause of any hiring story came out today Chris low said that on the radio yesterday
Meh, they self report to lessen the NCAA hit on the school, not any form of altruism that they "want to run a clean program." Let's not be naive. If the investigation finds that the AD or other non-coaching staff are complicit in their knowledge, that would contribute to 'lack of institutional control', but I doubt that in every case the AD and compliance department are just turning a blind eye, and then feigning ignorance when caught. If that were the case, no institution would ever self-report, in order to maintain plausible deniability.
I’m not sure if it was speculation at that point but today certified it that no hiring is allowed until this is over with...regardless I would put it at about 80 percent that Pruitt will not be HC next yearThe inability to hire coaches was reported last week. ESPN reported it today.
edited to add link from Jan 2 Sources: Jim Turner out with Bengals, in mix for SEC job
If penalties and fines followed the coach and/or coaches involved, it would not happen near as often from them. What I always hate about NCAA penalties, is that even with the coach/staff firing, the school still gets hit with the full force of them anyway, and it's the next coach that suffers not the one who committed the infractions.
